I paid for all of undergrad, $40,000 in grad school debt and $150,000 in medical school debt.

I would encourage everyone to look for any loan repayment benefit that they qualify for. I got an NIH grant for part of it and then my work provides a repayment benefit for people who plan to stay at the institution for 3 years. I took advantage of that as well.

If you are a teacher, nurse, doctor or another helping profession there are often benefits to help you repay your loans and I would encourage everyone to take advantage of these. It cut down my repayment time from 20 years to 7 years... It's been a wonderful thing.
