What were your LO's favorite toys at 6 months old? I think DD is outgrowing her current toys and want to add a couple new things into the rotation. She just started pulling up so I was thinking some kind of activity table. Any other ideas for me?

Both my kids enjoyed cause and effect toys at that age. So maybe musical toys, like the B. Parum Pum Pum Drum, or simple blocks that you can stack and she can crash down. My kids (2 and 4) are both still loving and playing with Mondo blocks daily.

Our LO loved the little people animals and barn once he was sitting up. He still plays with it. We also got a zany zoo around that time.

Grown up stuff that's safe to play with - pots, pans, sealed bags of food (I have to keep an eye on those to make sure DD doesn't gnaw straight through them), and other random things with no small parts. I don't know why, but they hold the kids' attention much longer than actual toys!

@Mama Bird: DD has been playing with an unopened box of cat litter. She's been banging on it like a drum and using it to pull up. It's her current favorite thing. Pots and pans are a good idea!

@SunriseMama: I didn't think of blocks! Thanks.

My 7 month old is going through the same transition from baby toys to older infant toys right now. My mom got her a miniature activity cube for Easter, which she loves. Non toy items are a huge hit right now: plastic measuring spoons, measuring cups, a wooden spoon, a plastic food jar with a few beans that she can shake and roll. Blocks, balls, and things with wheels are also a hit right now.

LO loved her learning table at that age, and still loves it a year later! The one we have is similar to this one, and the legs are removable so we started with it lying flat on the floor and then added the legs when she started to pull up.

DD loved her exersaucer at that age. I also second those who said blocks and also recommend duplo Legos.

DS was into his Baby Einstein jumparoo, one of those FP walkers, but mostly folded flat to bang on the doodads, the FP activity table, and random things that made noise. He liked those crackling cloth books, plastic keys, and just anything he could jangle.

@Rocker2014: we have a similar one and my nearly 3yo still plays with it. We have a basket of some baby toys, some kitchen stuff, silicon muffin liners, empty bottles, etc and DD likes to explore it. At 9mo now, DD loves empty easter eggs, anything she can push and walk with, books, anything her brother has, and she's seriously obsessed with this and has been for months http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DSIQS6G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1459859487&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=pop+up+button+toy&dpPl=1&dpID=51nqniT6-IL&ref=plSrch
