Is there any advantage to using training pants versus regular undies? I figure I'd just buy undies, since that's what she'll eventually be wearing. Am I missing something with the training pants?

They are slightly more absorbentf but don't fully contain accidents.

Training pants help absorb little leaks a bit more. That's basically it.

Skip training pants! We had some handed down from my nieces so we used them a little when LO wanted to try undies before I was ready to potty train, but they were definitely not a necessity. Plus, when she did pee in them, I still had to clean the floor!

Never saw the point in those or pull ups, personally. If you pee, you've peed in your pants and we're going to clean it up. Otherwise, use the potty. Done.

@mamacate: and @sarac: yeah, that's kinda how I feel. They're not waterproof, we still have to clean up a mess and change your pants, so why not use undies?
