I found out today, at 36 weeks 4 days, that my baby is transverse. I'm already a scheduled csection, so it doesn't really matter, but I'm just curious if anyone else has experience with transverse babies. Should I expect anything different once baby is here? I was in such a shock at my appointment today, I didn't ask any questions.

DS was transverse until about a week before birth. Then he just went head down on his own.
There is still time for the position to change.

My son was transverse the whole time. He was a twin, so he didn't have room to turn. Once twin a was out we tried to turn him (since twins often move on their own once space opens up in there) but ended up with an emergency c. The only effect his transverse-ness had on anything is that apparently it was hard to measure him (his legs wrapped around my side, if you can picture that). So they had been estimated his weight around 6.5-7 lbs and he was actually 4 lb 15 oz. we're not sure why he was so small, but apparently his position made t hard to get a read on his actual size. Other than that, he didn't face any issues or anything from being transverse!

I read up on it a few weeks ago because they thought little miss might be transverse (she's not, she's frank breech). Dr Google told me there are very few doctors who will even attempt a breech delivery of a transverse baby, because there's a higher chance of cord prolapse, but that's a non-issue since you're getting a c-section. I didn't read anything about any post-birth issues, though!

Mine was transverse, all the breech positions, head down...you name it, she did it! I found it uncomfortable near the end, but that's about it.
