Can someone please explain the Tula hype to me? I just joined a few bst groups on FB because I am thinking about getting a ssc, people are posting some of those for over $1,000! Do they really go for that?

@jill_a55: They are pretty, they come in more than one size, and you can also get wrap conversions (which are the ones that resell for $$$$$), and they really hold their value, but I don't know. I like my Ergo. Maybe if my toddler still wanted to be worn, I'd invest in a toddler Tula (canvas, not wrap conversion).

Some of the rare ones, yes, can be expensive.
I've purchased some Tula second quality ones (only cosmetic issues, no structural issues) for $125. I didn't want to pay more than $150 and the Tula stockings are very hard to get one. I'm now selling them and will be posting on the classifieds soon.

I think Tula is pretty great, but I can't shell out that much for the sought after prints. I own a WC in a print I do like by trading and got lucky!

you can just buy a Tula at a store or online. You dont have to spend a ton. The $$$ ones are limited editions and wrap conversions.
I have a normal canvas one and a mesh one and LOVE LOVE LOVE them both. I live in a place where it gets both grotesquely hot and humid and my-face-is-falling-off freezing, so I have a use for both carriers. And I paid normal price for them.
Yes, they are worth buying. IMO, just buy the normal ones. There are plenty of cute designs.

I have lots and lots of love for our toddler tula, but spending more than maybe $200 tops is just insane in my opinion. The insanity surrounding the different conversions and fabric patterns *blows**my**mind*!
I bought mine new and it's been a lifesaver for wearing well into the 3's and even 4's.

Thanks everyone! I just had no idea some of them were such a big deal! I have a wildbird and I know those have a great resale value, but I'd never seen anything like the Tula bst page!
@avivoca: I was looking at an ergo as a possibility as well, which style do you have?

@jill_a55: I have the black Organic. I bought it from someone on the Bee. We've been very happy with it.
