I have two K'tans (one for me and one for DH), a Beco Gemini and a Maya wrap. We loved the k'tan and used it all the time when LO was a newborn. Around 4-5 months, it started getting too stretched out during extended wear (it would shrink up again, but I had to wash it all the time) and it started to become less comfortable for me. I bought the Gemini at that time and am still using it at 14 months. I love that you can cross the straps, and I liked that it was less bulky than the Ergo I tried. I found a Maya wrap still in the packaging for $5 at a church garage sale and couldn't resist the deal. DD was around 9 months at the time. I like how portable it is and we do still use it, but I find that all of her weight on one shoulder gets uncomfortable pretty quickly now that she's so heavy. If you can, I'd try to find a local baby wearing group or store where you can see which carriers fit you well and make you feel comfortable. It's so personal, it seems!

I have a Baby Bjorn and an Ergo. I hated the Bjorn so so so much - all the weight was on my shoulders, hence the Ergo. We aren't exactly pro babywearers, but so far the Ergo has been great on long walks with LO and the dog.

I've got an ergo. Super comfy and I wear her all the time. The one bad thing is that if she falls asleep in it, you can't put her down without waking her. I've heard you can with a mei tai. Definitely find a babywearers group. My city has one where you can rent carriers for a month ($5) to see which one you like. Super helpful.

Love my Beco! Hated the Bjorn and sling. I like that the Become can be on the front or a backpack.

- Moby. Awesome for the first three or four months. Isn't sized so it can be used by both you and your SO. A little complicated to learn but once you figure it out it's pretty easy.

- K'Tan. An easier, less complicated version of the moby, kind of. Sized so you and SO probably can't share. Also awesome for the early days. I loved my ktan.

- Ergo. Not so awesome for the teeny babies, in my opinion, but FANTASTIC for older babies. Very comfortable, easy to use, adjustable so you and SO can share. Lots of men seem to prefer the ergo over other carriers. We love ours.

- Woven wrap. Ahh. It's a whole culture. They can be intimidating, but they are so comfortable, versatile, and work from day one through toddlerhood. I'm a fan.

I have a wrap ( I can't remember what kind ) I only used it a few times but wasn't super impressed. I should try it again but it just seems like it would be so hard in the parking lot to get it on nicely. Especially as it's winter and I try to be quick.

I had a Baby Borjn active mesh carrier which was recommended by a friend. I didn't know of all these other carriers so I got it. HATED it. It was fine ( manageable) for a short walk when she was first born and didn't weigh much. It made my shoulders hurt soooo bad.

I got an Olive and Applesauce ( similar to Tulas ) and I love it. I use it every single day for a minimum of 45 mins and up to a few hours. It's very comfortable for me and baby. It has a great seat. It has a pocket, a cover, a built in infant insert. You can use it front/back/and hip and you can breastfeed in it. ( how you breastfeed and walk I dunno.. but you can haha.)

I'm looking at getting a Tula just because I use the carrier every day and want to change it up sometimes. I was also considering a ring sling but I think I need something with more structure/support. When #2 comes eventually then I might try the ring sling then.

I like wraps for when they are 3 months or less, ergo on front for 3-6 months and ergo on back for 6 months plus.

I had a ktan but never got the hang of it. Probably user error, but she never felt secure and I ended up returning it.

Moby saved my life. It was a little cumbersome to tie at first but I quickly got very good at it, since many many days it was the only way to get C to sleep. We wore that thing every day for hours. But it was only really great up to about 3 months, after that I felt like it stretched out a little and I got tired of tying it.

Beco Gemini-love. It's super easy to get on and c and I are both very comfortable. Like that you can cross the straps in the back- comfie and easier to put on, like that I have te option of face forward (which is frowned upon I know but I still wanted the option. We only did it once and I wasn't a fan but I could see using t on occasion in the future). Dislike that there is no pocket at all and that it's sort of bulky with long straps so carrying around when you aren't wearing it is annoying (but most carriers are prob like that). Disclaimer- c is only 6 mos, 16 lbs, and I've only ever done front carries. Getting her on the back doesn't look super hard but I still like seeing her in front of me.

Ergo - really like it even though it feels a bit bulky/big for me. DS hasn't complained about being in it, and he's spent HOURS in it. He's currently 7 months.
