When in the world do you start tummy time?

Our ped had us starting tummy time right away after they were born. We've been giving our boys plenty of tummy time starting from one week old, when we were home from the hospital.

Um, she laid on our chests a lot? We didn't do intentional tummy time until about 3-4 months, when we wanted to start working on rolling. She always had fantastic head control though... Like holding it up in the hospital.

We were told to start after her 4 day appointment. Most of her tummy time is on our chests, but we do some on the floor every few days.

After his umbilicl cord fell off and was all healed up.

Right away, but LO pretty much hated it in the beginning and would just sort of face-plant into the floor (or my chest), so we only did it for probably 2 minutes at a time. Now, at 4.5 months, he's way more comfortable chilling for a while.

We were told to start after his umbilical cord stump fell out. He hated it unless he was lying on our chests, though, so we did a lot of that, especially at the beginning.
