Any tips for making tummy time a little more tolerable? I've been trying to get my 7wo to have more, but she screams every time I put her on her belly! Any suggestions that worked for you?

At that age, we spent a lot of time tummy to tummy to get him used to lifting his head, while in a comforting environment. LO has great head/neck control now at 3 months.

My LO hated tummy time as well. I used to flip him over after a diaper change on his change table and he tolerated that much better than being on the floor (at least for a few minutes). I would kneel in front of him and sing songs to him.

My daughter also hated tummy time. We used a boppy, which helped some. Also, I would lay in front of her and talk to her. Lots of tummy to tummy time like others have mentioned. I would just do it until she started to fuss (haha, which was sometimes right way). Also, I would sometimes dangle a toy in front of her and she would try to look at it.

@Mamag511: tummy time doesn't have to be on the floor! You can do it on your lap, lie on your back and put baby on your tummy, my baby loved going on my shins while I lay on my back (like superman!). Key is so they can see your face too. Try putting baby on the couch and sitting on the ground face to face. Lots of different toys within view. In your arms face by your elbow like upside down cradle? If you know another baby put them face to face or side by side. Even on your chest if you are reclined! My baby hates lying on his back now! We did lots of different positions all the time since birth and he's used to it. Not much time on a blanket by himself with his little face practically on
The ground

Thanks all! Great ideas - I will definitely give them a try!
@Raspberry: I like the idea of after changing them. It would be easy to remember and a quick way to get it in!
@junebugsmama: I for some reason had the idea in my head that tummy time only counted if it was flat on their stomach on the floor. Thanks for all the ideas; they definitely seem doable to add into our day!
