Not sure where to put this...
But I just wanted to see how current bees are doing with 2 kids under 2(or close to 2)....
Our house is a mess...LO1 has been throwing tantrums lately and frankly I don't have the patience or strength to deal with it especially when we are trying to take care of LO2...
Did I mention our house is a mess 
...in laws are gifting our kids more toys and I'm trying to figure out where to put them (they may just have to be stockpiled for later use 
)

Our kids aren't 2 under 2 any more (they're 22 months apart, but are 3 and 5 now)... but they sure are putting us through the paces lately!

I have a 6 week old and a 21 month old and my house doesn't remember what being clean feels like. I pick up toys all day long to keep myself from tripping over things while holding a baby. Oh and we can't put the baby down during the day...she will nap while being worn or held only. Toddler's favorite phrase is 'I don't like that neither!"

@tororojo: I have a 10 week old (dd) and 2 year old (ds).. Luckily ds is in daycare full time but once we are home, I'm outnumbered until dh comes home...Instead of putting his toys away at the end of the night, I will make a neat pile in the center of the living room cuz I know the next day, it will be messy again....I will be lucky to even shower during dd's naps (most of the time she will sleep on me/be worn)....I look forward to 8pm-ish cuz that's when both kids are asleep...

Ours are 21 months apart. Right now we're in a sweet spot, but those early days were a blur! Hang in there. It gets much better!

@butterbean: It got a lot easier... but has gotten harder lately again! I'm hoping it's just related to the kids being sick, and not sleeping that much recently.

@butterbean: 33 months and 4.5. Both are lovely and play together so well. Three years old is so hard, so I'm enjoying while I can!

19 months apart here. We are just getting over a very difficult rough patch. We can finally reason with our toddler and our infant is in between teeth. Just waiting until the next wave hits us!

@Mrs. Jacks: awww!!! I'm looking forward to them playing together .... I feel guilty not giving my undivided attention to either of them (which I knew would be hard when we found out we were expecting #2).... I don't know if this will be our last child so I'm trying to enjoy every second with two kids (even if it means sleep deprivation, tantrums galore and messy house)

I have an 11 week old and a 19 month old, and I feel like I'm finally starting to get my shit together...most days, anyways. I've actually been better about cooking dinner, grocery shopping, and cleaning up after bedtime than I was when I only had one! I think this is mostly because if I don't plan meals in advance and make better use of my downtime things turn into a disaster, so I'm much more productive during naps and after bedtime than I used to be. And obviously it helps that sleep is getting better; D occasionally sleeps through the night.
L is finally starting to understand that he has to be gentle with D, which is a huge relief! Of course, knowing that he should be gentle and actually being gentle are two different things...but overall he is doing much better! I still suck at leaving the house with both of them, it's always a big pain in the butt ordeal, but I'll have to get better at that soon because I'm going back to school next month and they'll be in daycare twice a week, which I'm nervous about!

@Lindsay05: we've had many battles with our toddler...we win some, we lose some....I'm not looking forward to the teething...we just introduced bottles today and it didn't go to well... We will give it another try tomorrow until we find some different ones..I would love to just have a moment of not doing anything

@butterbean: I'm also not looking forward to teething! And we have the opposite problem with bottles; they're all D will take, so I have to try to keep them both happy while I'm attached to the pump every few hours, which is tough! I also look forward to 8pm (aka: bedtime!)

Ours are 20 months apart but no longer 2 under 2 at 7 and 27 months. Our 2 biggest challenges are that LO1 has been watching too much tv because it's the only way I can keep him quiet and still enough for LO2 to nurse and we have been cooped up too much these last couple weeks. I need to find more indoor activities that work with naptimes and set up more playdates. Summer was tough because LO2 only wanted to be worn and it was too hot. Now he doesn't and I wish he would! Overall things are really great though. LO1 loves his brother and it doesn't seem like he even rememberslife without him aanymore (which is a little bittersweet for me).

Mine are a day shy of 22 months apart, though no longer both under 2. The 2.5 year old is a fan of tantrums and the 10 month old just cut tooth 7 and is working on number 8. Will not take a bottle (or sippy, or spoon, or cup of milk) and never has, so I have done every single feeding...and she bites. She also still wakes to nurse 1-2x most nights. 2 under 2 years apart is its own special type of crazy. It actually is getting easier though--the first 6ish months were the hardest. Hang in there- you'll find your groove!

@wonderstruck: I'm struggling with meals..even with meal planning, it's hard to actually make them... I'm all about being productive and efficiency...I go back to work in a couple of weeks and I'm tryin to get into the habit of either doing a lot of meal prep over the weekend or have crockpot meals ready to go, so that all we have to do is very minimal during the nights...I love it when I can just throw dinner in the oven and be able to play with my kids cuz I know dinner is cooking...I don't love it when I spend so much time prepping for meals and it cuts into my quality time with the kids...dh is involved with the meal prep/cooking but I'm starving by the time he gets home so it's better that I get the meals going....
I feel like I'm in survival mode...just wait until I go back to work

@skipra: lo1 has definitely been getting a lot of screen time... It's gotten to the point, the first thing he says once I pick him up from daycare is "barney video?" But then there are some days when I don't offer any screen time because he is playing with his toys (which affords me the opportunity to nurse in peace)
@erinpye: are your kids playing with each other? I'm hoping as soon as lo2 is able to sit/crawl, they will "play" with each other

My two are 13 months apart. They are currently 18 months and 5 months. We're actually in a great groove and things are a lot of fun, but I will say our house is never ever totally clean. It just can't be. My favorite days are the ones where both DS and DD nap together in the afternoon - I'm able to get so much done and it helps me feel a little more put together.

@coopsmama: naps at the same time are key! That was the one thing I was adamant about from day 1 and it has been a life saver. At first so I could sleep too and now the break is what keeps my sanity.
@butterbean: I know you didn't ask me but my guys are starting to "play" together now - meaning they grab toys from each other and LO1 entertains LO2 by doing thing he is not supposed to, like jumping on the couch. They are really sweet too, LO1 does share his toys much better than most kids his age and is very concerned about LO2's well being.

Mine are 17 mo apart. Lo1 turns 2 in two weeks. I'm hoping then it will get easier but maybe I am deluding myself.
I am bone tired. I feel like I just can't keep up. I just quit working so that might help. I have leave the house every dy or my toddler is just too wild. But it's exhausting.
They are both cutting teeth. I don't know how to deal with molars coming in. Teethers do to help when they are so far back!
I am not looking forward to starting solids with lo2. Two bibs, two trays, two faces to wipe....
On the bright side, they adore each other. The other day, lo1 came and laid down beside lo2 and grabbed his hand and yelled, "we're both friends!" I die.

I'll join! I have a 3 week old and a 22 month old. The toddler is in daycare full time and I'm on maternity leave, so so far it hasn't been that bad. Weekends are the hardest, but at least both my husband and I are home so we each tackle a child. Xander (the toddler) has definitely been having more tantrums and acting out, but he's also started to take an interest in Logan and asks to hold him daily, which is so sweet!

@coopsmama: @skipra: I love it when lo2 naps at the same time as #1 at the same nap time on the weekends... I can't wait until when lo2 only needs 1 nap and has a later bed time.... Right now I just follow her sleepy cues and let her nap (which is about 3-4 times/day) and we start her bedtime routine between 6-630 (which could take up to an hour until she finally settles)

@jedeve: I hear you on being tired!!! But when I see how ds interacts with dd, my tiredness seems to go away ( for that moment)....the other day he wanted to hold her and when we put his sister in his help (with assistance), he said "take a picture" (we snap a lot of pictures with our iPhones ).... He will kiss her and hug her and its those moments that remind me how blessed we are (just gotta get thru the infant days and tantrums...lol)
@Adira: when dh is home, it becomes 1:1 defense too... We each take a kid.. I'm on maternity leave too and go back to work in a couple of weeks and I'm not looking forward to the bottle cleaning, etc... I started picking up #1 from daycare (with #2 in tow) early on in maternity leave so I could get used to pickup duty...of course it will be a little different since #2 will be starting daycare when I go back to work and I will have bottles to bring back daily...but at least I have an idea what to expect and how long it will take...will your lo2 be starting daycare too when you your leave is over?

@butterbean: Yep! I'll be in the same boat as you with both kids in daycare and I'll be doing daycare pickup. Currently my husband is on leave so he does both drop off and pick up with Xander,but I think when he returns to work, I will start doing pick up myself and just have to bring the baby with me like what you are doing.

@Adira: good luck! i put the baby in our snap and go when i pickup my son now... i'm too lazy to carry the bucket seat inside the daycare and not to mention, i don't want all his toddler friends trying to spread their daycare germs to my baby :wink:...this will all change when i go back to work because i plan on scooping my son first from the toddler room and then getting my baby from the infant room as we head out (i'll carry the bucket seat)...
