TWW - POAS - Early May

@eiko2010: heehee, that is weird. I was reading on it and it seems that it can be anything from cramps to dull pain to a sharp pain and it can last from minutes to hours. Mine felt almost like a stitch in my side (but near my hip bone) and it lasted a couple of hours.

Mine felt like AF cramps. It hurt so I went to bed early.

This morning isn't so bad. I still feel a little crampy.

Crap! My temp went up this morning. FIVE days early. An no other fertile signs until this a.m.. I think we might have missed our chance this month.
Hopefully it's just one wonky temp. shoot shoot.

    honeydew / 7504 posts

@jumpingjacks: Probably just a wonky temp! I've had that now and then. Actually, I just had it, I think. My temp spiked yesterday to 97.7, but then this morning it's back down to 97.3. Since I had a +OPK on Thursday and my temp went up yesterday, I assumed I O'd on Friday. Now I'm not sure...

Ugh, waiting got the best of me and I POAS and got (I swear) a super faint BFP line so the next day I went and got another test and it was for sure a BFN.
IDK why I even wasted the tests but then being positive I saw that extra line threw me for a loop. I'm still 10 days away from AF and could still very well be preggo but I've gotten myself all pissed off and worried I'm feeling Pms symptoms and I'm just an emotional mess. This week leading up to AF/no AF is going to drive me insane.
Like, I just ate Honeynut cherrios and they tasted weird and I'm thinking, hmmm food adversions interesting. No self! Not interesting, it's friggin cheerios lol
Sorry needed to vent my neurosis.

@Crisark: oh dear, that sucks. Any big project you can get involved in to keep your mind busy? I'm digging out my garden right now and it's doing a pretty good job of keeping me distracted.

  7. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@Grace: Not really. I can't do anything outside because we are supposedly getting some random snow storm tomorrow. I'll be busy with work,Thursday is bring your child to work day so my oldest DD will be coming with me so that's something we are looking forward to.
I feel so silly for losing it, esp since I was doing really well.
I do kinda feel better that I got that out tho.

  8. Grace

@Crisark: boooo snow! We were supposed to get some yesterday morning but it never happened.

@oliviaoblivia: OMG, I know. I'm only 6 DPO today and it feels like it's already been FOREVER!!! Longest TWW of my life!

@Crisark: Aww, sorry you took a test and got a BFN! How many days past ovulation are you? Waiting is sooooooooo hard, so I totally understand.

@Jumpingjacks: Any news? Was it just a wonky temp?

@eiko2010: Boo, wonky temp spikes are so frustrating! I guess keep BDing until you know for sure?

@Crisark: I definitely know what you mean about having random symptoms and wanting to test early. I am 12 DPO and have been feeling slightly nauseous and had some minor food aversion. It's so strange because we didn't BD according to schedule this month because we were both sick. This cycle was the one that I've felt the least confident about but I really want to test because I feel off. I am still going to hold out until this weekend and hoping AF doesn't show!

I hope you get a BFP soon!

  11. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

I'm pretty sure I'm 1 DPO (waiting to see my bbt tomorrow), but I am having some weird symptoms. Yesterday I had some cramps. Last night I felt really nauseated. And yesterday and today my boobs are really sore, esp. my nipples. Really not sure what's goin on there.

  12. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@PBandBaseball: I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this. I really don't know when I O'd but based on CM I believe it was around the 14th. Which would only put me 10 days right now. If I was perfectly lined up with O'ing on day 14 it wouldn't have been until the 18th but I didn't feel anything then.
Either way I have to wait until 5/2 to see if AF shows. I thought I was going to do better this month but I guess I was wrong.

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@eiko2010: Some of that cramping could've been ovulation pain! Not sure about the other symptoms though. Being 1 DPO sucks though - you have such a long wait!!! Ugh, we'll have to keep each other distracted until we can POAS!

  14. Jumpingjacks

    apricot / 426 posts

@adira: Thanks for asking. Temp went down again. Normally my temp is very steady until O, then steadily climbs in LP then drops. But, for the past three days it's gone down really low (thought it was an O dip) then high, then down to a normal temp again for this time of the month. Weird. I'm going to assume I haven't O'd and continue as normal. I expect the real O tomorrow or Weds.

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Jumpingjacks: My temps were like yours this month. They were basically all over the place. It's so frustrating and makes it hard to tell when O occurred! Hopefully you'll ovulate when you expect and your temps will start behaving! At least it sounds like you didn't O early - which could easily make a whole cycle wasted if you weren't prepared for it. Good luck these next couple days! Hope you get in lots of BDing and O comes when you expect!

  16. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Adira: Seriously. This is a painful one.
@Crisark: It sucks that you aren't sure when you O'd. Do you chart at all?

  17. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

@adira: I know, SUCH a long wait! I feel like I live my life in 2-week chunks - 2 weeks waiting for O, then 2 weeks waiting for AF/BFP! So annoying!

@jumpingjacks: My temps often kind of jump up a bit the day before O, then drop back down, then shoot way up the day after O. That's why this cycle is kind of throwing me off!

  18. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@oliviaoblivia: No, DH wanted to just "let it happen" however I'm a spaz and "letting it happen" isn't working out so well lol I wanted to use OPK's but then got some flack about it so I thought ok I can handle not knowing exactly and just waiting for AF to come or not come each month. I'm not sure how well that's working out for me lol.
I am better now that I've calmed down and I had a really long and anxious weekend so I don't think that helped my emotional state. I'm feeling better today and just kinda going with the flow. Hopefully that will last.

  19. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Crisark: Ugh, sorry to hear you're not sure when you O'd. How were you with BDing? Hopefully your timing was okay, regardless of which day was O day!

@oliviaoblivia: Is it May 5th yet?

  20. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@eiko2010: I'm the SAME WAY! Two week increments! I'd say the least stressful week is the one where I'm on my period, haha. It SUCKS to have AF show up, but I don't have to stress about timing sex or waiting to POAS. It's just one stress-free week.

  21. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@Adira: We BD'd 4 times in our suspected 7 day window.
And even 2 times before in that week just for fun
It really will just not be meant for this month if it doesn't happen because we were on top of our BD'ing game.
I just had a moment(s) of weakness lol

  22. littlebug

I've just been sitting here analyzing my chart (to death) and I'm so confused! Anybody have any insight?

    My Ovulation Chart

  23. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Crisark: We did the 'what ever happens happens' for two months and I went totally bonkers. I find that charting at least gives me something to do while waiting.

@Adira: Not even May yet my dear. DH is leaving for Australia on the first. It's weird to think I'll be POAS alone. I would love to pick him up at the airport with a welcome home daddy sign. It'll really suck if I end up BFN without him around.

  24. littlebug

    honeydew / 7504 posts

@Adira: I know! Never thought there'd be a day when I thought having my period was the least stressful time of the month!

@Oliviaoblivia: and @crisark: Yeah, we were supposed to be "whatever happens happens," for the first few cycles, and it drove me nuts. I started charting after the first one. I just needed something to focus on. I also think it helped me know what to look for when it came time for us to "get serious."

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@eiko2010: Yikes, your chart is confusing! My guess is that CD 16 was a temp fluke and you probably ovulated yesterday. Though it'll be impossible to know for sure until you temp tomorrow and Wednesday.

@Crisark: Oh yeah, it definitely sounds like your timing was well! I really hope it works for you!!

@oliviaoblivia: May is sooooooo far away!!! I can't believe your husband is going to be gone when you POAS! I really hope you're able to do that welcome home daddy sign! That would be sooooooo awesome!!!! And you always have us in case you end up with a BFN, but hopefully it doesn't come to that!

  26. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@Adira: I'm so thankful for you girls. Did you have a nice time at Foxwoods?

  27. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@oliviaoblivia: Oh my gosh, yes! It was soooooo much fun! But so short! I only really got me through Day 4 (past ovulation), haha. I wish it had lasted a week so I could be distracted for longer! Oh well!

  28. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

I have to say I don't know what I would do without this support thread. I can come on here and list my crazy and I'm not judged (at least not publicly haha)
    It helps a lot.

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Crisark: I agree completely! I think we all need support, especially when waiting to ovulate and then during the TWW. I feel like a crazy person half the time, but you ladies are always so supportive!

  30. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@Adira: I always feel better when I can get it out. It's letting it fester that stresses me out the most.
    This is a wonderful outlet.

  31. PBandBaseball

    clementine / 861 posts

@Crisark: I feel the same way!

It is so nice to see that I'm not the only one who wants to test even when it's too early. It is also really nice when AF does show up to have people understand what I'm feeling. If I hear my sisters (both got BFPs on the 1st try) tell me "it'll happen next month" one more time! Ugh. Thank goodness for you ladies!!

  32. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@PBandBaseball: OMG! That and being told "It'll happen when it's supposed to". Umm yeah I know that lol
It's easier said then done as far as being patient and not "worrying".
I feel a huge sense of relief once I've vented here.

  33. BSB

Ugh, my brother told me over Easter that "Maybe you guys aren't doing it right." Really? I love my brother and all but that hurt a little. This is coming from guy who got his wife pregnant when they weren't even trying... both times. It came from my brother so I tried to ignore it but if it had come from someone else, I think I would have said something back.

Well, I'm in my TWW. I'm feeling good. We BD'd every other day and got a postive OPK on Friday. I think I O'd on Saturday. I'm going to POAS on May 3rd. AF is expected May 6th.

  34. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@bluestriped bee: Sounds like you are on the ball! I POAS May 2nd. I am dying lol Which you can see from my previous crazy lady posts today.

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@bluestriped bee: Awww, that sucks! Sometimes people can be really thoughtless in the things they say. Your brother must think it's super easy to get pregnant since they didn't even have to try! Plus he's a guy, so he really has no idea what it's like for us women to be trying month after month after month! Please try not to take it personally! He has no idea what he's saying and I'm sure he was just trying to make a joke, even though it was a bad one. *hug*

Welcome to the TWW! I hope it flies by for you! Mine has been dragging, so hoping other people have a quicker time of it. Hopefully this is the one for you guys!

  36. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

@bluestriped bee: Men are clueless about this stuff. I hope you called your brother out on his insensitivity. Welcome to your TWW. I'm glad you'll be here with us. I need all the don't POAS support I can get.

  37. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@Crisark: Oh, no. I'll turn into that crazy lady soon. Give me a couple days where I start psychoanalyzing my symptoms. I was looking up 'conception symptoms' yesterday. Haha. Yeah, then I saw the results and realize I have no idea why I searched that.

@Adira: Thanks. Yeah, I know. It was such a guy comment.

Hoping we all have a good TWW and all of us get BFPs!

  38. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@oliviaoblivia: No, I didn't. I ignored it and vented to my sister about it. I guess it would have made me feel better if I had called him out on it. Next time!

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@bluestriped bee: My brother is insensitive like that too. He doesn't know that we're trying, and sometimes when we hang out, if I use the restroom too "often", he'll throw out the "What are you, pregnant???" and it just stings. I know he doesn't know any better, because he doesn't know how much I WANT to be pregnant, but it's still not something you should say anyway.

  40. Crisark

    pomegranate / 3398 posts

@bluestriped bee: Well, you'll get no judgement from me cause at that point I will have either gotten AF or BFP and either of those will turn me into some kinda of stress ball whether good or bad haha
