I've always worn an underwire bra and have never found them to be uncomfortable. I'm now 26 pregnant, and I seriously cannot wait to take my bra off! I feel like it rubs the area under my boobs and the very top of my belly where it starts to round to the point where it hurts! I bought new bras, which initially I thought were better, but after wearing them for a whole 12 hr shift at work, I'm still uncomfortable. Maybe I didn't go big enough on the band size? Or is it the actual underwire? Are any of you still wearing underwire bras? I tried on a bra without it and I felt naked and squished.

I wore them all the way through pregnancy and now with breastfeeding.

I'm 32 weeks and still wearing my pre-preg underwires. I know they aren't the right size anymore, but I just never got around to replacing them. They do dig into the top of my belly now a little, but I figure it's not so bad for the last 8 weeks or so (I guess I'm cheap) and I'll get properly fitted ones once my milk comes in and it's really important.

I haven't worn an underwire since I was 16. I go for comfort over beauty.

I always wear underwires and I had the same issues as the OP. I learned from my OB that it was nerves that the underwire was hitting that was making the contraption hurt.

I'm wearing an underwire bra, and will continue to wear one. I find a bra without underwire just doesn't support me enough for me to be able to wear it.

I'm guessing it's your band size too small?
My ribs hurt but lower than where my bra is...I think it's because of things shifting.
I wear my underwires even to bed sometimes. 25 weeks and still no issues here. -
I switched to no-wire nursing bras when I got re-sized at 21 weeks. I had gone from an F cup to an H cup, so I figured I might as well. I find them much more comfortable for the time being.

Sounds like you're wearing the wrong size.

I can't imagine not wearing an underwire--I have worn them my whole life.
I have gone up three sizes since I have been pregnant and am currently wearing bras in the correct size. However, I feel a lot of pain by the end of the day and can't wait to take my bra off, just like you. I just figured the uncomfortableness was a normal part of being pregnant. -
I threw mine out long ago. I wear what looks like a sports bra but for pregnant ppl, they're softer and more stretchy. Soooooo comfy!
