Mine: I hate Hanna Andersson clothing. Hate it. It has no shape and is ugly.

My kids have a bunch of character clothes. That seems to be unpopular on HB. But if my kids is excited to get dressed because he’s got Superman or Elmo or whoever on his shirt or socks then I’m totally ok with that.

@jhd: mine too lol whatever makes her wear clothes and be happy is what she gets!
I'm usually years behind on fashion in general. I still don't own any leggings lol and I don't like pointy shoes, which seem to be making a come back (based on advertisements I've seen lately)

I don't like dogs. Like, I'll pet your dog and do my best to pretend to like it, but ... in general ... nah
pomegranate / 3272 posts
@Mrs. Yoyo: It's not that I don't like them.... I like them in theory....but I've never had a pet so I'm cool not having them. All I can see when I look at them is another mouth to feed and poop that will need to be cleaned up. I'm good. DH is dying for a dog and, well, no.

I hate bows on babies, especially big headband ones. HATE THEM. You do you, but I think it looks freakish to have a headband that is disproportionately large compared to the child's head. If it's not necessary to keep hair out of her eyes, why put your child through any of that? Since I live in the south, I guess I'm lucky I have a boy

I usually lean very liberal, but I don’t fully agree with socialized healthcare. After going through severe health issues myself and being apart of support groups for them online, I see how many people it fails (even in very developed countries like the UK and Australia). People suffer and deal with issues they would never have to deal with if they lived in the US. I’ve seen the pain that they experience when they wish they could come here for healthcare. Certainly don’t love our current system either, but I was SO glad for it when sh*t hit the fan and I saw what others have to deal with. I don’t believe it’s a “perfect” solution.

Bed-sharing gives me anxiety. Sometimes I feel like people think I'm some sort of monster for not wanting to cuddle with my children all night long
Ooh, just thought of another--I work, and I don't secretly long to be a SAHM. I like working!

@Mrs. Cereal: ha. I love HA and DD wears tons of it. I agree some is ugly. But it’s well made, practical and washes well.
I don’t feel guilty being away from DD at all. Overnight, longer trips with DH, just a few hours here and there. Sure I miss her and am happy to see her when we are reunited but I need downtime.

@crazydoglady: YAS!!! If my kid will be quiet for a half hour watching Paw Patrol, I am all for it!

@graceandjoy: Watermelon is an overrated food. It is rare to get a good one and the rest are mealy or have no flavor at all.

@youboots: I never feel guilty or sad being away from my kids.
@Mrs. Yoyo: Me neither. I thought we might get a dog someday and I think it took 34 years and taking care of 3 kids to admit to myself, but I don't think I like dogs.
My unpopular opinion? I don't think Parks and Rec is funny. SORRY.
Unpopular opinions related to kids and parenting: I don't care if my children eat vegetables and I do make them separate meals half of the time because I would rather eat the food I like in peace than negotiate with them to try to eat their dinner. So chicken nuggets and mac n cheese it is.

I’ve never watched a Harry Potter movie (or read a book) and have no desire to.

@LadyDi: I also give my kid other food if he doesn't want what we're having. Not gonna lie, it's partly because I worry if he went to bed hungry, he'd wake us in the middle of the night haha. I'd rather he have a full belly!

I never got into This is Us... I'm sure if I had time to watch I would've, but just never got started!
Same for Game of Thrones.
And I feel like everyone is raving about hard seltzers now (white claw).. not a fan.

@mrs. yoyo I also don't really like dogs (especially dislike small dogs). They make me nervous and they all smell bad.

@crazydoglady: Same about the screen time. We have the TV on in the background more often than not and always have. We keep the captions on, so it can count as reading practice? lol

I don't seek out or buy organic or non-GMO foods. Conventional is just fine with me!

I don't like coffee and will have a soda if I need a pick me up in the mornings.
@lindseykaye: I only buy organic if it's on sale cheaper then conventional.

My toddler doesn't have a bed time, yeah I should work on that, but it's not high up the priority list. I generally believe if they don't have to be up at a certain time, there is no need.
Admittedly my babysitter comes to our house, so he can sleep until 9 if he wants. 🤷♀️ I also don't force nap time.

@MrsSCB: SAME!!! i honestly love working and think it is what keeps me sane. relatedly, for my third baby, i am likely taking less than all of my extremely generous maternity leave.
@wrkbrk: lol.

@Mrs. Yoyo: Thank you for saying this!
I have been afraid of dogs my whole life (from birth according to my mother) we never had a pet, and now that I'm an adult I'm less afraid, but I also actively dislike them. (and well any pets. we are a no pet family. I think that animals are disgusting and a waste of money.
I was lucky growing up, none of my close friends or neighbors had pets either. We moved into a neighborhood last fall, and I realize EVERYONE has a dog Makes me want to cry and vomit.

I deeply believe structured daycare is the best environment for kids, and that stay-at-home parent situations are stifling for both kids and the adults.
I also seem to be immune to mom guilt and have no trouble leaving my kids to go on trips (for work or pleasure).

Love this!!!
I don't care about screen time.
I let my kids eat snack foods and candy daily if requested
I let my dd wean herself of the paci..I didn't take it away or put it in a build a bear or pass it into another baby
I give my kids whole milk...as much as they want daily
I let DD ride her bike without a helmet
I'm sure there's lots more.....

@PawPrints: I am fairly immune as well I was super glad to go back to work and have on occasion dropped E at daycare to take a mental health day.

@jennlin821: I don't actively hate them ... just more of a resounding "meh" and an "I would never want to deal with that." It just feels like a controversial opinion because people are SOOOOOOOO into their dogs!
But I did have cats growing up and we just got two of them. Sometimes I want to send them back in the middle of the night when they zoom up and down my hallway, but they are so much more my speed. Other than making sure they are fed and have clean boxes, they require so very little from us. So I guess that's the true root of why I don't like dogs -- way too needy and I have kids for that!
kiwi / 549 posts
@Mrs. Yoyo: ha same as you on the dog front. I don’t hate them but I don’t “get” them or any pets really.

Kids spend too much time in daycare / away from their parents.
I don’t like the “Fed is Best” movement because it sells everybody short.
persimmon / 1196 posts
I also hate watermelon.
I am basically a short-order cook for my LO at meal times, and I don't care. I want to eat what I want to eat, and often that is something that she flat out will not like. I'll encourage her to try it, but I am also happy to make a sandwich for her, Indian food for me, and let DH fend for himself.
I have no trouble listening to LO cry - never have.

@Mrs. Yoyo: Me too. I’m a cat person. I feel like people form such negative opinions when you say you don’t like dogs!
eggplant / 11716 posts
@Mommy Finger: haha. Same. Also didn’t grow up with one, and I’m allergic to cats so I also just view pets as less-responsive/less fulfilling obligations (compared to kids). All the feeding and vets and walking and scooping poop and managing pee—no thanks.
We had a neighbor with a sick dog whose dog managed to poop in about 6 different spots on the carpet right outside my door. I’m still livid. The HOA sent ppl to clean the carpet but the stain is still there (because the owners did absolutely nothing to treat the stains when it happened—they literally just scooped the poop as if it was a sidewalk and left the remains). Between that and their dog going crazy every time we leave or come home....
the whole situation further cements that I don’t wants pets. I don’t even want neighbors with pets at this point, haha.

Kids need more loving authority/discipline from parents. It would make them happier and more secure.
Though there is definitely good from technology, it plays a big role in ruining many children/teens.
