I'd posted a few weeks ago about our apartment search that seemed to be yielding *almost* perfect apartments but with some big drawbacks, especially no laundry in the building and lots of stairs in a walk-up.

Well, in theory I knew that to stay within our budget we'd need to make tradeoffs, but in reality, after seeing what was in our budget, I wasn't actually willing to make very many tradeoffs at all! (Bathroom that's the size of an airplane bathroom? No thanks.) So we did what they always do on House Hunters and found a place that was slightly more than we wanted to spend. Whoops. Luckily we can afford it, just weren't able to be as frugal as I'd like. But it's on a beautiful street with laundry in-unit, on the second floor of a walk-up and we can leave a stroller in the foyer.

Thanks for all of the input and advice. It was super helpful. Did any of you spend more than you'd hoped to on a house or apartment? Was it worth it?
