I'm kinda interested in doing this because I don't want to waste water to wash new prefolds 6+ times!
Have you ever purchased used prefolds?

@autumnlove: yep, I bought them used because they're cotton and I could boil all the potential ickies away (unlike stuff with snaps/PUL/elastic). I didn't end up loving prefolds in general though.

I haven't bought used prefolds, but have gotten other used dipes. FWIW you can boil new prefolds to get all the oils off so you don't have to wash them a ton of times.
