DH and I are invited to a semi formal wedding in early April in Boston. It could be spring like or freezing. Can I wear velvet or should I look for a more springlike dress?

@Alba4: Hmmm...that's pushing it. I don't know why but I think of Thanksgiving-Valentine's Day as "velvet season" haha.

Do you have a pic of the dress? I feel like it depends on the cut and style...

I live in NY and there can definitely still be a snow storm or two lingering in April I would say it depends on color/style too! Is the wedding at night? That would up the pro-velvet factor for me too vs a day wedding.

@graceandjoy: it’s an evening wedding, so it is a bit more formal. I keep seeing such cute velvet dresses in teal that I want!

@Alba4: I think teal would work! Esp when it's at night and kinda dim anyway!
