I spotted off and on throughout my entire pregnancy - sometimes it was red blood, other times pink or brown. No real reason except I had a friable/sensitive cervix... the rest of my pregnancy was healthy and now I have a 2yo. I wouldn't worry too much, but it might be good to give your DR a call.

@pui: In that case I would definitely try to get checked out. I kept telling myself it was normal for things to look a little different in pregnancy but apparently not that different!

Spotting after going to bathroom and after sex is very normal. You shouldn't need an internal check for something like that, but you can always call to get reassurance if you would like.

Now if you think that you have infection, like yeast, getting a culture would make sense. However, something like yeast, wouldn't actually cause the spotting. These would be 2 separate issues.

@pui: I agree, I would call just to at least let them know what's going on. I had some second tri spotting caused by a split in my perineum, and it was irritated by constipation and sex. My doctor gave me some cream to heal it, but it still bleeds sometimes. Even if they don't bring you in, I would think this is the kind of thing that your doctor would want to know about. Hope all is well!
