I've noticed that many of my friends who really love newborns are having 3, 4 or more kids! I've always been a "can't wait for the newborn phase to be over" person, so I was happy to stop at two.
How about you: do you love babies? Did it make you want to have more babies?

I love babies. Can't get enough of them. But I love having a fully funded retirement even more. We are stopping at two for practical reasons more so than just not wanting more than two. If I was rolling in dough I would probably have more. Oh yeah, and hire a surrogate to birth them because I love the babies but hate pregnancy!

Very nearly.... in that I don't like babies at all and didn't enjoy the first year of E's life one little bit (I love being her mummy now though). We were very nearly one and done after that but the desire for two overrode the desire not to go through that again.

We already want four, but if finances, time, and space weren't issues I'd definitely want more.

I'm "eh" about babies...we have always wanted three. We have two now and we will most likely stick with the plan to have a third.

They're really wonderful to look at, but the newborn phase nearly killed us 
I love seeing newborn pictures though!

I'm really not a newborn/baby person at all. And we're only having two kids. But that has more to do with the fact that I always just pictured myself with 2 kids - if I had 3 or more I think I would start to lose my sanity.

My newborn/infant experience made me seriously question my original plan to have two kids. And I had a textbook, complication-free baby so I feel like I have nothing to complain about. But I was still pretty miserable.

Absolutely. Our 15 mo is amazing. If I could get another kid at like 12 mo I'd for sure be in. But I don't know that we can survive another baby. We are not baby people.

Actually, its the post baby stage that makes me want more!! I just want a toddler in my life for as long as possible. I'm not crazy about the newborn stage, and I hate pregnancy (or at least I did with my first), but see them as necessary evils to get to the fun stuff!

Nope. I'm over it. I'm loving the baby phase this time around, but have no desire to be pregnant again or have three kids. I miss sleeping in the bed with DH and being someone's milk machine is tough. I've done it before, but know it gets more fun later.

@Silva: @ladybee: Yep. The first year, I was pretty sure I never wanted to do that again. Having a nearly 2 year old is challenging but I really LOVE being her mom. I think I love kids (my kid especially, ha) more than I love babies. We are now pretty certain we will have another. We needed time to recover from the trauma of a colicky newborn. Now I know that even if it is hard again, the good stuff is coming.

I was not a fan of the newborn stage, but that didn't stop me from wanting another. it's more due to the fact that I'm having an awful second pregnancy and really have no desire to ever do this again. Plus, the more I think about having just 2 it makes me feel like our family will be complete.

My daughter had colic and was really difficult and i swore i was one and done after her!

I love the baby phase, but don't plan on having a ton of kids to compensate for that lol.
We will hopefully have one more, though. I work at a higher end children's clothing store so I get my baby fill at work!

Nope. I adore babies and am loving the newborn phase, but we're sticking with one. Part of me is sad that this will be my only teeny baby, but I definitely don't really want another. DH is getting snipped before the end of the year.
ETA- When I was younger my aunt fostered babies during the time between birth and when they were placed with a family. I'm going to talk to DH about doing that once LO is much older.

I really, really love babies. Children in general. I'm totally having a hard time dealing with the fact we are probably only having two children.
When I was little, my favorite book was Cheaper by the Dozen! I was always thinking of my future children's names and never envisioned having a small family. I also always was the neighborhood baby sitter and had tons of little cousins running around my aunts and uncles always trusted me to watch from a young age.

Maybe.
I love toddlerhood, even though it's full of tantrums and my little guy never stops moving. But the communication and the ability to do fun stuff and just the personality... the age is awesome.
I do not love babyhood. I love my babies, and I love a few things about the infant stage, but I have had two MSPI babies and mostly I just look forward to this stage being over.
I thought I wanted 4. Then 3. Now LO1 is 2.5 and LO2 is 7 months, and I love my kiddos to the moon but I'm not sure about having another baby. The idea of not going through the sleep deprivation, potential allergies, and general PITA-ness of the newborn/infant stage is very appealing. If I knew my third baby would be good on breastmilk without crazy elimination diets, a reasonably good sleeper, and just chill, I would be sure. But the track record in happy -go-lucky babies is not great so far.
My husband would be totally okay being done now. I'm not convinced, yet, but it will be a good long while before I feel ready for this mess again

I am in this boat now. DS is almost 6 months old and I question if I want to be up several times a night with another baby in a year or two 
And DS is great, way better than DD was! I do want another one, but I just dont know how much, I think I am getting too old for it. Maybe I will change my mind in a few months.

We would love to have two. Especially now as LO is fast growing up, we are ready to get back into the newborn madness (which we relished the first time). We both are for the idea of a third baby though, as big family sounds like lots of fun, but unfortunately are limited by thinking of future costs like private schooling & travel etc...and that means we will stop after we get our rainbow baby!
