I love food and eating...food is on my mind pretty much around the clock! That being said, I think I make reasonably nutritious choices during the week (i.e. not a lot of junk food, eating whole grains, etc.). Let's not talk about my weekend eating though.

The thing is, I LOVE to snack and especially love to eat before I go to sleep while I'm reading (this goes back to elementary school). Most times, I'd rather forgo a meal and then just have a bunch of snacks while reading or watching something on the TV. And then pass out afterwards with a full stomach. I completely understand the "milk drunk" happiness of infants...nothing like a full stomach followed by a snooze.

Instinctively, this feels like a bad habit...but I'm curious to know if it actually is. Is it important to have meals or is snacking okay as long as it's not complete junk? Admittedly, I do swap meals for a huge bowl of ice cream instead sometimes...or, let's be real, sometimes it's the meal and the ice cream! Also, does it matter when you eat, such as before you sleep?
