I picked my DS's name years ago. When I first met my DH, I found out that his two middle names were my top two boy names. So my DS is indirectly named after my husband.

My half sister (by my dad) has the same first and middle name of my older cousin (mom's side). And my aunt named my (older) cousin the name that my mom had always wanted to use (unintentionally). And one of my cousins named her son my dad's first name (and one of his cousin's name), but it was specifically after a friend of her DH's who had died, not a family thing. (My dad goes by his middle name.)

my dad's sister's late husband had an aunt willa...i didn't find out until i told my mom it was a top contender for our daughter's name... and discovered my mom hates the name because of this aunt willa! but she made really beautiful quilts and i hope to get one of them from my mom if we do end up using willa as our girl's name

Yes- with my name. My parents chose my first + middle, then found out after I was born that my grandma had a sister who died as a kid with nearly the same first and middle names (Alice instead of Alicia, same middle).

My parents were team green and had picked a name for me in case I was a girl (Ann Elizabeth). My cousin was born two months before me and her parents named her Elizabeth Ann My parents didn't really talk to my aunt and uncle and didn't know her name until they got the birth announcement about a week before I was born! Needless to say, my parents thought of a new name real quick!

We knew lo would share a first name with different spelling and different nickname as my husband's aunt... Turns out we accidentally gave them the same middle name too.

My two sets of grandparents have the same names.

My MILs maiden name (she's Indonesian, from Indonesia, DH is first generation) is the same as my last name.
