DH was in a primarily Jewish frat (except he's not Jewish? Lol)
I was in a co-ed service fraternity.

I was an officer of my co-ed professional frat. We called each other brother and sister to be funny. GIS!

Nope. DH was in something in grad school...not sure if it was a frat? They did community service and drank a lot.

Nope! They were huge at my school and sometimes I was bitter that I couldn't rush because I was a transfer student. By my senior year, I couldn't care less.

We didn't have frats or sororities at my school, which I was happy about-- I didn't think it would be my thing but I didn't want to be left out.

My school was very Greek and all of my friends were in sororities, but I was unaffiliated. I saw good and bad things about being Greek and not being Greek. It would be interesting to go to a school that didn't have the Greek system. I almost can't imagine what it would be like!

Nope - Greek life is not really so much of a thing in Canada.

Nope. I briefly dated a guy who was in some frat, but I don't remember what. I feel like it was all swim team members? Is that a thing?
Eta: the college I graduated from didn't have them, but the one I started at (and transferred from) did

wow, am i really the first to say yes to being in a regular plain ole sorority? i was in a house and loved it! lived there for a year and a half. wasn't a partier, but met a lot of really great ladies!

DH and I were both Greek - he at a very Greek-focused, small school, and me at a huge, public university where being Greek made the huge campus seem a little less daunting.

I am, and it was a fabulous experience. DH's alma mater doesn't have them.

Neither of us were. If I had gone to a different school I probably would have.

No I didn't go the traditional college route so it wasn't an opportunity. I would have loved to though!

@birdofafeather: looked like fun but I was intimidated by the rush process!

Yes - we both were. I will encourage our LOs to rush.
I honestly think it is a reason we have so many friends from undergrad. At a wedding last weekend, 30+ frat guys (and then their wives) traveled for it. And this is 8 years after graduation. Having shared friend group helps maintain the friendships despite time/distance.
Some of my besties (from college) weren't in sororities and I've noticed that they don't have as many undergrad friendships that they maintain. It just takes so much work to keep up long distance friendship. When I talk to X and she has recently spoke to Y and Z - I get the update and feel close to Y and Z still. It just makes things easier.

Yes - a normal sorority at a large, public university. It was fun at the time and I don't regret joining, but I look back now and think how ridiculous it all was. I certainly don't consider myself a 'sister for life', nor do I care about any alumni activities. It was fun for the four years and that's it.
@ChitownRo: Interesting, I only keep in touch with one person from my sorority, although I am FB friends with quite a few. I just can't relate to a lot of them any more, nor do I care to be perfectly honest.

Nope. Also attended at huge public university with 30,000+ undergrads. I actually rushed my freshman year and decided it was so not the right fit for me.

We both were and we had awesome experiences. Our university was 25% Greek, so it was a big deal. I actually still serve my chapter and serve as a distance advisor

Nope! My school was super small and didn't have any.
DH was in a frat.

No, I had no idea what was going on, and by the time I figured it out it was too late.
Plus, I had to pay for college myself - no extra monies for Sororities!!
