I wasn't but it just wasn't something that was big in my neighborhood when i was in elementary school. It seems like such a fun thing to do. I recently read that the girl scouts made over 3/4 billion dollars selling girl scout cookies last year!!!
Were you in the girl scouts? Would you want your daughter or son to join the girl/boy scouts?

I wasn't and I would want to do a bit more research into it before I would sign up LOs. Kids I used to work with really seemed to enjoy it, though. I also love me some Girl Scout cookies!

I wasnt. But I did Civil Air Patrol when I was an older kid. I would def let my kids do it if they wanted to.

Even though most of my friends were Campfire kids, I was a Brownie. I think I got kicked out because I never paid my dues. My mom gave them to me and I'd spend it elsewhere.

I was, but I didn't find it enjoyable (other than consuming the cookies. Ha!). When my brother joined cub (later on boy) scouts, I tagged along and LOVED every minute of it. Guess it was the tomboy in me.
I would put my (future) son in scouts, not sure about my (future) daughter though...

I was a girl scout, and I loved it! I'm still a camping/hiking junky 
I'll definitely sign DD up for girl scouts. I hope she loves it as much as I did.

I wasn't and neither were any of my friends so I didn't think i was missing out. I was too busy with other classes (dance, music, swimming) that I probably wouldn't have had time for it anyway.

I was in both girl scouts and boy scouts (venture crew). Girl scouts is great if you have an acvtive troop that does a lot. I wouldn't stop any future children from it, but I wouldn't push it on them either.

I was, but I joined pretty late. I joined in 8th grade and then stayed until I turned 18 and they kicked me out. After I graduated my friends and I were leaders for a while, I quit that when I started TTC.
I'd like LO to be in girl scouts. I love camping, and I'm hoping to be LO's troop leader if she does want to join.

I had the choice to either join Girl Scouts or add another dance class per week. I chose dance
My brother was big into Boy Scouts though, and I used to know all the oaths and pledges and stuff.

I was a Girl Scout until I was about 15 and then again in college when I worked at a Girl Scout camp. I loved scouting. My mom was our troop leader and we were one of those hard-core troops that camped a ton, learned knots, could cook outdoors, did orienteering, etc. It was awesome.
I would fully support my kids doing scouting. I think it teaches kids a lot, but you have to find the right troop.

NO! I was a 4-H kid all the way and we kind of didn't like the boy/girl scouts. I would much rather my kids be in 4-H.

I was a Brownie and if my future little one wants to be either a Brownie or the equivalent for the Boy Scouts, I'll gladly sign them up!

Yup! I even earned my silver award in middle school, but never earned my gold as I wasn't as active by then. I went to horse camp when I was younger, which I loved and took a few other trips, like to Maine, through scouting. My mom was my troop leader when I was younger (she was also my brothers boy scout leader when they were little).
