What you're feeling when LO moves around? I am 34 weeks and his movements are a lot of stretching, pushing and poking. I'm always so curious if I'm feeling a knee or an elbow... or a bum or his head! I just have no idea! It feels like he is everywhere. I have no idea what position he's currently in, either (I'm guessing it still changes from day to day). Were you able to tell?

I wasn't able to identify until I had a positioning ultrasound with my OB one appointment. Once that happened, the movements made sense.

like @cascademom: said once i knew what position he was in it made sense. i never felt knees or elbows (or at least couldn't identify them as that if i did) but since he was head down i knew his butt was what was shifting at top of my bump. it was pretty cool.

I also have no idea what position she is in or what body part I'm feeling .!She is squirming and rolling alot though!

At 34 weeks I'm guessing he's probably short on space but still moving side to side.
Even though I knew the position I was always second guessing myself. It's so crazy but fun to imagine how they fit in there!

@jmarionsmith: I would poke his legs near the end of my pregnancy and occasionally feel his butt. It was still hard to tell even near the end.

I could never tell besides just knowing her head was down. I would assume it was a foot or hand

I couldn't ever tell until he had the hiccups. Them I could tell what position he was in but I couldn't ever tell whether he was punching me or kicking me.

I can't tell but I think I know only because I think he's stubborn and likes to be head down based on my last u/s. and I get a lot of strong kicks to the right side of my ribs!

I could very easily tell that his butt was just under my rib cage. Partially from ultrasounds showing where he was and asking at Dr. appointments. Part of my job is palpating organs in animals, so it just comes easy for me. I really do miss that feeling of him moving!

Definitely! He always has his little left foot kicking all up and down my side, and then the right foot is poked in my ribs 24/7. I had a hunch about this and the ultrasound proved me right! I also knew when he was breech bc his head hurt my ribs SO bad.

When she was head up, I couldn't tell what was going on but once she flipped I had a better idea. Towards the end I started to feel tiny little sharp things poking out that I think were her elbows.

My little bugger was very stubborn when we did the 20 week anatomy scan. So we had to return the following week to try and prod him into changing positions for the kidney/spinal cord shots. The first time we went, he was in breech position. The second time, his head was towards my right and one little foot could be felt kicking on the left. His other leg was bent straight up to his face. So I couldn't even hazard a guess as to which appendage is hitting my bladder at any given point in time.

I couldn't figure it out until I saw a picture of a proper 'head down' baby position, and then all the nudges made sense! I've been feeling her hiccups down low, so that's her head, her butt is right at the top/middle of my bump, and at least one leg is kicking me on the left ribs. I was pretty confused for a while, though!

When we had our anatomy scan at 20wks the tech explained how she was positioned; head down and slightly to the right with legs up just under my left ribs. Her movement has always been felt in the same places for the last month or so, so I presume she likes that position and hasn't really moved since.

I could sometimes tell if it was her hiney - a big lump on the side of my body making my belly off center!!

Nope! I wish I did though! I feel jabs and him pushing on certain parts of my belly. Can't wait till my 35 week appointment so I can find out if his heads up or down at least!

@fert: At 12 weeks, my LO wouldn't get in position. We had an extra ultrasound as a result. I remember doing jumping jacks and drinking lemonade to wake him up to get in position.

I am pretty sure my little one is still transverse, which is no bueno since I am 34 weeks. There is often a hard spot on my right side which I think is his head. He also LOVES to grab and constantly grabs at my right side so his hands have to be over there somewhere.
I am hoping he gets his little butt into position soon!

@cascademom: EXACTLY! The second time, I had juice and cookies, they tilted the table so that my feet were about two feet higher than my head, and finally what worked was bending over while standing up and coughing really loudly. I'm a little charmed by how stubborn my little guy is at this time. Hopefully he grows out of it

Yep esp the last few weeks. I could tell if it was his bum or a foot!

I'm pretty sure (and the midwife this morning was pretty sure) that his or her back is on the left side, head down, which makes sense since I feel softer flutters way down low (hands) and harder jabs on the right side all up and down (feet kicking). The baby definitely makes some big movements once in a while though when I just have NO idea what's going on. I'm 30 weeks.
