I need ideas. The only things I can think of that he would be excited about are way too expensive.
My budget is 200ish.

I bought him a really nice pair of warm slippers from LL Bean. Not an exciting gift, but that's what he wants!
I also got him an LED headlamp thing and a drill bit set from Lowes. He loves little tool gifts like that.

I'm having trouble as well. He did mention something about a shirt, so perhaps that. He buys anything he needs immediately so it's really hard to shop for him.

He asked for a few DVD's, a dress shirt and a book. I'm also going to take him on a tour/tasting at a local brewery. Are there any local activities he would like to do that aren't too expensive?

Pajamas, a cigar humidor that is shotgun shell shaped, a fancy pen, and a few blue rays.

@Running Elley: Yeah, he loves stuff like that so I figured it's a good idea!

Well my gift to DH won't be much help for ideas. He is getting snack food, small digital picture frame and a little light up snowman. He is in Afghanistan so he can't get much. Lol
But he will be coming home to new pipes on his motorcycle.

@fancyfunction: I was looking something to round out his presents, that's a great idea!
honeydew / 7589 posts
Firefly tee shirts, other clothes that he really needed, and a book.
If I had more to spend I'd have gotten him a Fossil watch, a laptop (his is dying), or a leather jacket.

This is not going to be any help but maybe you can think of something your husband has really wanted to get done around the house. My husband has been super busy this year so he told me he wanted 3 things for Christmas that he's been trying to get around to doing himself but hasn't had the time:
Clean out our old office (future big girl room for our LO) and move everything to the new office/guest room
Get a light switch fixed
Get our ice maker repaired
I have two out of three completed and the fridge repair guy is coming next week.

So far I've gotten a connector thingie so he can stream his iPhone to our car speakers (to listen to books on tape while driving) and a Mel Brooks DVD box set. I'm not sure what else yet.

@fancyfunction: Excellent idea, thank you! Our favorite beer is brewed only 15-20 minutes from us!

I got him a 3 tier tool chest and a couple tools to go with it, some slippers, and I'm looking for a watch.

We set a $100, I went over it, but he really wanted this Marmot puffy vest.

@fancyfunction: which brewery are you going to? I saw on the Sound of Music thread that you live near me. You can wall me if you want!

We said we weren't doing gifts but I'm thinking about buying him a loot crate subscription since no one else got it for him. Are there any monthly box subscriptions he might like?

I got my husband the Neat scanner he wanted. I also got him pants from Old Navy and I'm thinking about a SiriusXM radio subscription.

Probably some clothes. He says he doesn't want anything and doesn't give me any ideas. So, I'll probably buy him pants because he needs some.

Protein powder, protein bars, a new shaker bottle, breaking bad the final season, clothes
Santa (aka: my parents) is bringing him a bunch of books, lifting socks, fat gripz, lifting singlet, supplements
Can you tell he's a gym rat?? Lol

An Xbox One. Waayyy more than I wanted to spend but it's what he really wants.

A small radio controlled UFO (on sale)
Board shorts (I haven't bought yet)

@fancyfunction: Hm… I'll try to think of something. He doesn't drink so brewery/winery tours are out and I don't know of any shows coming to town but I will definitely look!
@MrsTal: I didn't know there were subscriptions for men! I'll google and look into it. thanks!
@rahlyrah: You're a better wife than I am!! My husband would love this or the new ps system (or a new nice stereo-- those are the 3 items i mentioned above) but this just is not the year for me to go all splurgy and spend a ton on Christmas.

@fancyfunction: I got that for my husband for his birthday - we're cashing in on it this weekend.

I'm taking him out for Christmas Eve dinner and letting him pick whatever he wants off the menu
The food is fusion Louisiana using Florida's own, fresh seafood.

We don't do gifts....we take the amount we budget and go out for dinner and then shop for toys for tots together. Such a fun tradition!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
i'm getting him random things he needs: new ties, underwear, etc. probably chocolate, i really want to get him a david yurman necklace but we set a limit and said we'd only get necessities this year, so i might just save it for vday or father's day.

Okay, time to show my geek side. I just ordered hubs the Star Trek: Into Darkness blu ray combo pack, a Klingon dictionary, Hamlet in Klingon, and a DVD he's been wanting for ages on auto racing. I need to think of something else to round it all out but he wanted fun not practical gifts so I followed instructions

This year my husband wanted The Cube, it is a 3 D printer, so he got that, for his birthday, anniversary and christmas gifts.
eta: but if I had a budget of $200, I would get him a tool organizing drawer set thing.

We are just doing stocking stuffers for each other so I got him:
two DVDs (The Jackie Robinson film & Gangster Squad)
cologne
GCs to fast food around his work for lunch
Nice socks for work
golf balls
gum
new eletric toothbrush
Under Armor gloves

We don't exchange gifts; we buy something for the house we both would like, or an "experience" (fancy dinner out, night away at a nice hotel, couples massage, etc). Would he be into anything like that?
bananas / 9899 posts
I was going to get him a Juicer, but my SIL ended up getting him that. My next idea was one of those "Galaxy Gear" smart watches, but they're over $300.
eggplant / 11408 posts
I'm not sure yet. At least a new set of ear buds, but other than that, I haven't got much of a clue.
I will say, though, if your husband is a slipper-wearing guy, my mom got us all UGGS slippers last year, and it was seriously the best present ever. I never thought expensive slippers would be worth it, but we love them!
honeydew / 7230 posts
He needs new tires on his car, so that will probably be his whole present. Plus a few little stocking stuffers. We are planning on getting nursery furniture soon, so we will probably call that a Christmas present to each other.
bananas / 9899 posts
@looch: Wow! That's a nice gift! My DH likes the Cube too, but I think he'd rather me hold on to that money lol. At least it's 3 gifts in one!
persimmon / 1165 posts
A table saw. He returns every gift he gets so he's the worst to buy for.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@pui: I think it is a total waste of money, don't even get me started on the refill cartridges!
The thing is that he deserves some fun things and he's the kind of guy that likes new technology, so by default it is expensive. I could get him socks and he would be just as appreciative, but I feel like I should spoil him a little as well.
