I recently decided to SAH, and now I want to clean out my closet and buy some much needed casual clothes. What do you wear to SAH, on weekends, or even in a casual work environment? What are your must haves? What do you find most practical for chasing after little ones?

I live in jeans, leggings and flip flops!

I wear a lot of yoga pants- but I'd hardly call my look fashionable. At best I aim for the whole "athleisure" thing- yoga pants or leggings, cuter sneakers than white gym sneakers, casual sweater or t shirt or cardigan. But I've also been pregnant or nursing forever so that limits things.
I don't wear jeans that much because they just aren't that comfortable for getting on the ground or whatever. But I'm lazy too.
At best this is the sort of look I go for. But I never look this pulled together.

Jeans/leggings and loose tissue tees or tunics! I like gap tees in "tall" so they cover the butt, and tees from madewell or the loft.
For shoes - toms, birks, or uggs bc they're just "slip-on and go" type shoes!

Jeans and comfy tops with sneakers, boots, or sandals. I love wearing dresses in the summer to feel more put together.

Jeans and nicer but still comfortable tops. Tops that have some sort of detailing look more put together than just a solid color shirt. And then they work for business casual too.

I wear leggings and short dresses or a skirt over the leggings and a blouse. (In winter.) Extremely comfortable and I could go anywhere at anytime!

Jeggings! I love them - the look of jeans but the comfort of leggings (I'm so uncool). I wear them with vest tops (tanks) and long cardigans.

I love ponte pants, more comfy than jeans but look more pulled together than yoga pants. Loft has great ones.

Leggings or yoga pants, tees or tanks under drapey cardigans, scarves and uggs. Skinny jeans (I have really comfy maternity ones from h&m I'm wearing these days). Sometimes zip up hoodies and sneakers. In the spring/ summer I wear flip flops or sperrys. Dry shampoo & hair in a ponytail!

Skinny jeans that have some give for playtime.
I have some really cute/trendy sweatpants from Monrow and Sundry. So days I feel like being in PJs all day I can run to the store and still feel "cool".
Lots of flowy t shirts I can wear untucked or tuck the front in
Cozy sweaters (pullovers but also lots of open flowy cardigans)In summer I have lots of tank dresses that are super comfy but very cool.
Denim jackets
J crew tank tops in every color because they are easy and comfy
A few cut off shorts
Birkenstocks because they are so comfy and easy but "trendy"
I wear superga slip ons, have them in every color! Good year round.I second dry shampoo! And BB Cream. Wash my face and if I at least put on bb cream I feel like I can go out in public and not be embarrassed.

Everyone who has said leggings - any recommendations for good brands? Still wearing my beloved maternity leggings but that's gotta end

@wrkbrk: I have a pair of Splendid leggings that I like a lot. Thicker than Gap or other brands I've owned. They are pricey but when you wear them all the time I think it's worth it. Still less than a pair of jeans.

My work uniform lately (casual workplace) is leggings, a very comfortable sleeveless dress, and any long-sleeved top in my closet. Flowy cardigans are awesome as well, and sometimes I keep a puffy vest on all day. Oh and a durable nice-looking pair of boots every day in the fall/winter/spring.
At home it's a lot of leggings/yoga pants and nursing tanks.

@wrkbrk: I have some athletic ones from gap fit that I like, so they are nice and thick. I also have the Hue ones everyone loves and like them ok. But I have a hard time finding long enough tops.

I just bought some go dry compression leggings from the old navy active line, and I'm impressed! Nice thickness, no sagging, and I got them in black so can be worn with anything.

Flowing tops and leggings are so not good on my body, so I wear very tailored stuff, like trouser jeans, slim tees, tunics, field vests, cabled turtleneck sweaters, etc. I also like to begin with the shoes, I am currently coveting some gold detailed new balance sneaks because I am sick of tall boots!

@Foodnerd81: Someone recently suggested buying Old Navy tops in "tall" sizing, and just rolling up the sleeves, which seems kind of genius to me. I always order petite since I'm short, but longer tops would be much easier to wear with leggings.

@PawPrints: I do buy the tall tops but because I'm kind of tall myself (5'7") they still are just barely long enough unless it's a long style to start with. Plus old navy likes to shrink and I like to put everything in the dryer...

Bottoms: comfy yet flattering skinny jeans, definitely with a little stretch. I've had luck with the gap. A pair or two of leggings for under tunics and dresses. In the summer, maxi skirts.
Tops: staple LS and SS tees, I'd invest in comfy and soft fabrics and some cute patterns or detailing. A little lace for example goes a long way to making you feel more put together! Or I pair a solid tee with a print scarf or cute necklace. I love a good sweater cardi too. OH and invest in a Patagonia better sweater... More put together than a hoodie but still warm and cozy. Wicked versatile. And lastly I'm in the market for a yoga hoodie with the cowl neck, love that look.
Shoes: Toms, Birkes, Uggs, new balance sneaks.

Uniqlo legging pants are my favorite these days, paired with longish button down, tunic, or cotten dress.

Jeans with some stretch, leggings, ON Pixie pants (for work), flowy shirts, cardigans (I have a big blanket cardigan I wear to death), and tunics.
Add black boots, flip flops, and some decent flats and I'm good. I tend to go for solids, lots of black, and simple prints like striped and polka dots.
Below pictures are not me, but pretty much how I dress. I work in a business casual environment

@LindsayLou: gap maternity low panel leggings, ponte pants, nice skinny jeans, all black chuck Taylor's, knee high leather boots, Hunter boots, a lulu scarf I can unsnap for nursing, tons of target nursing tanks, Nike colorful zip front hoodies, lots of long button ups, long sleeve t shirts, a black lightweight vest, and a black down 3/4 hooded mountain hardwear coat- mix and match all of it. I live in a rainy coolish climate. In the summer I wear linen pants, flops and cute tanks or maxi dresses.

Skinny Jeans, white low chucks, striped, black, grey orred tshirt/lightweight sweater/longline cardi. black puffer jacket if its cold. thats my pretty much everyday mild to cold weather wardrobe. I can't stand summer as my hot weather wardrobe is limited, particularly post partum.

I WAH so I'm very casual.
Bottoms: skinny jeans and leggings. I have tried a few different brands of leggings but haven't found perfect ones yet.
Tops: soft long sleeve tees from Boden or J Crew. I have a lot of striped tees. Cashmere v-neck cardigan. This is my splurge, I have one in light grey and one in black and I wear them over my tees in winter just about every day.
Dresses: I'm working on adding more casual dresses to my wardrobe for both winter and summer. I LOVE dresses but I think it's hard to find casual ones.

Oh, I also wanted to add comfortable button downs. Plaid/flannel is having a moment again so I have a few of those. I love throwing them on and wearing open like a cardigan or buttoned up to look more put together. Or tied around my waist. Soft Joie has some great ones, and Rails when I can get it on sale.
Oh and chambray. I have a lot of those, especially for spring, but I do wear them year round.
Boyfriend jeans. But I tend to wear those more in spring/summer/fall as well because I like them ripped.

I've been really into Athleta tunics and sweatshirts recently for days that I'm home with lo--super comfy! I'm wearing their leggings and Pose tunic right now actually--super comfy but pulled together enough to have brunch with friends (which is what we did today!). I also wear a lot of loft and madewell. for days that I work I usually wear skinny jeans with riding boots and a long sweater

I stay at home. I usually wear skinny jeans and sometimes leggings. Tops are casual but cute sweat shirt types from gap usually. Or long sleeve striped shirts.
I need more tunics so I can wear leggings!

I've been living in Old Navy boyfriend flannels, leggings, and a vest with boots. And actually, I don't use leggings-I live in ON high waisted running tights. So comfy!!

@looch: I debated, but I ended up deciding that gold is more versatile. I can picture it with virtually any color including gray, especially since it's also ivory/white/whatever. But I had a harder time picturing gray with everything.
And I think the gold will really dress stuff up. -
