I'm trying to read all the classics I've never read and reread many I already have. There is just more time to read with the slower pace of life here, and I want to read one classic book for every "fun" book I read.
What are some of your favorites?

Jane Eyre. I read it every couple of years. And Pride & Prejudice of course. I also read Middlemarch recently and have already reread it again.

Gulliver's Travels is fantastic. It's genuinely funny, which is amazing considering it was written almost three hundred years ago.
I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen, but I know she might not appeal as much to a man. If you only read one of her works, make it Pride and Prejudice.
Jack London's books are great. I'd start with The Sea Wolf and then Call of the Wild.
The Wind in the Willows is sweet, and might make a great read-aloud for Charlie and Olive.
If you're just starting to read the classics, you might want to start with classics written for children, like The Hobbit, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Peter Pan, Treasure Island, etc.
