I wasn't thinking and bought several types of pacifiers before LO was born, and it turns out she only likes the Avent ones. Does your LO prefer only a certain brand/type or are they not picky?

She'll only take the Avent ones as well, these:
She didn't take a pacifier for so long and one day I gave her one of these and it's like it just clicked.

At first he would only use soothies. Now he can go between soothies and avent, although avent is easier for him to keep in his mouth. Those are the only kinds we have at home. I want to get a nuk, as I've heard those are good too.

@BelugaBean: oh those are cute! I have only tried these:

I wonder if they are the same, but the ones you have are just cuter?

@hilsy85: We have a bunch of Nuks but LO doesn't like them as much. She will take them, but I think because they are curved a bit, it throws her off.

@Bao: I actually wondered if they were the same too! We got those one day because DH liked the penguin and said she had to have it. I thanked him when she stopped taking the soothies and started taking those (it saved my poor nipples that she had been attached to for weeks).

@BelugaBean: is the nipple part on it straight or curved?

Shes pretty picky. She will only take Avent or MAM pacis. She hates soothies, nuks and tommee tippee.

@Bao: It's straight. It's similar to the soothies but flatter instead of round and much more of a silicone feel.

@Bao: I want the cow and the bee but it says that the designs vary and they just send one. I wouldn't be super disappointed in another penguin and hedgehog but I like the variety!

@PrincessBaby: haha I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks those are ugly!
@BelugaBean: Can you buy them in a store?
pomegranate / 3516 posts
@Bao: You can. We got them at Babies R Us and those were the only ones we saw at the time but that was also in May. We'll probably look again next time we remember.
@PrincessBaby: My LO only used those for about a month, refused anything for a month or two, and then started taking the Avent ones.

Dr. Browns! We have one or two of pretty much every brand (I guess we got a little carried away with prep before she arrived!) but only use the two Dr. Browns!

DD only liked Mam pacifiers...I could rarely find them in store. But once we swaddled weaned, she was done with the pacifier.

We bought like four different kinds, but he only likes the soothies. Don't care how ugly it is as long as it keeps him happy!

Mine is 4 weeks, and her favorite are the wubbanub which are soothies. If we give her a different one sometimes she likes it, other times she looks at us like we are nuts. LOL

We use the Hevea orthodontic pacifier: http://www.amazon.com/Hevea-Star-Orthodontic-Pacifier-Large/dp/B006SKK790/ref=sr_1_4?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1356290889&sr=1-4
It's rubber and all-natural, which I like. The orthodontic shape is supposed to be better for teeth too, when he gets those. Our son hasn't tried a different kind, but he likes this one a lot - I don't know what I would do without pacifiers!

DS would never take anything other than a soothie. He would scream if we tried giving him a different brand.

He likes MAMs. He rejects pretty much everything else and absolutely hated the soothies!

She has only taken soothies and gumdrop.
@PrincessBaby: the gumdrops are like cuter soothies imo, they are very similar in the shape.

C HATED pacis. The only ones I could get her to even take for a second was the MAM ones.

DS loves the advent ones the most. I bought a bunch after a few nights if frustration. He liked soothies at the beginning and will take one occasionally. He doesn't love the nuk or mams.

When she was using soothers, we had tommee tippee only and she was fine with them. At about 5.5 months she dropped the soother and is a thumb girl.

The only ones that he likes are nuks! We bought other brands before he was born but he won't take any of them!

She uses soothies. I tried the gumdrop one a few times but it totally left red imprints on her face!

Sawyer only likes the Avent ones as well. Now that he is bigger he only likes the bigger sized ones as well.

Avent soothers and she will only use 0-3 month size at 8 months lol
PS hooray for being a clementine !!!

@Beehive: I ordered 2 similar ones for 0-6 months and 2 for 6-12 months before Toddler X was born. (Gilt featured them, so I took advantage of the good deal.) Then some friends gave us the gumdrop ones a week after Toddler X was born, and DH and MIL liked those more, so they only gave him those. The darn gumdrop ones are the ones Toddler X likes, so those nice, all natural, no dye, etc ones have sat mostly unused after the first few days. He still insists on using the gumdrop newborn ones at 14 months.

She is just starting to get picky (14 mo.) she loves but has hidden all her Tommee Tippee exploras. I replaced them with what our local grocery store has and she will begrudgingly take MAM and refuses NUK.
