We mostly just use the ergo but I think I'm going to try the Sakura Bloom ring sling with this baby. My first was born in April and it was waaaayy too hot to use te Moby or ergo insert so I'm hoping the sling keeps us both cooler

i started out the baby bjorn and that didn't last more than 5 months.

next i got the gemini and still love it. LO is 12 months.....well i loved it until i got an ergo for my friend and used it for a week and i can see it how it will last longer than the gemini with the wider seat! i also got an ergo sport which i haven't used much yet.

all this brings me to the Kozy mei tai i bought and started using recently. i am officially on the "wrap train" now! i forced myself to use it alot so i could get used it it. At first i thought i wasted my money because i found it annoying to get on and off. but like with any carrier, there was just a learning curve and now i find it easy. And then i put the beco on the other day and was like "omg, this is so much LESS comfortable than my mei tai". now i always opt for the mei tai. It also has a super wide seat and should last well into toddlerhood. As soon as i can learn and master back carries, i think i will be even more thrilled with it.

I owned the infantino,the moby, a sukura bloom sling, and the ergo. I hated the infantino. It was never comfortable for me. I also could never get used to the Sakura bloom sling. I tried it a variety of times , but it just never felt right. I loved the moby for the first couple of months, then switched to the ergo, which I adored. He went everywhere in the ergo.

Didn't work:
Moby, it was too long and hot. I never felt like I could babywear outside while wearing it. I guess I just like the feeling of buckles, they make me feel safer.
Ring sling, just not my cup of tea.

Worked:
Tula toddler carrier, still using it, it's awesome
Beco Gemini, I would say this worked up until about 9/10 months. As LO got bigger it became uncomfortable to wear her in this...her legs would hit my thighs and my lower back started killing me.

@HLK208: i think Babyhawk is the most popular. I got a kozy because it also had great reviews and was able to get one second hand for a great price. I think kozy also has a wider seat and better for toddlers. Babyhawk came out with one called toddlerhawk, so because of that i am not sure how long the baby one would last.

I also have a wrap conversion ring sling that i got a good deal on coming in the mail soon....i can let you know how it works out!

I have a DIY moby and I wanted to get something different this time so I didn't have to worry about tying but LO loves the carrier and I like that it's so adjustable. Then we have the Ergo for when she gets bigger.

My favorites are WCRS, mei tai (Babyhawk is fine for a while, but you would need one with a wider seat before a year probably... I'm getting a WCMT), and Tula.

I borrowed a moby an got a ktan from my registry. I wanted to love the ktan but I just didn't. I didn't think I'd like the moby but we loved it, even though we got really hot in it (Lo was born end of July). Once I got the hang of it I could put it on really quickly. Ended up returning the ktan.

We have a beco Gemini and like it but have only used it a few times so far.

@HLK208: she just never felt secure in the ktan. I think it was also that I wasn't putting her in right, to be fair. The moby I was able to get nice and tight and she felt more securely tucked in. WE Started using it at less than three weeks, but she was over 8 lbs at birth. We definitely would both be pretty sweaty when she came out but I'd take secure and sleeping and sweaty any day.

Also this is weird but I borrowed two different mobys and the black one is a lot stiffer/ tighter than the blue one. We are only just phasing the moby out now at almost 4 months and over 12 lbs.

@HLK208: I have your Beco, and it works wonderfully!

I had the Ergo, but C loves to face out... so we weren't using that as often.

I am just starting out but I really like my K'tan!

I love my Boba Wrap, but my LO would get so sweaty in it (born at the beginning of October, so it was still warm). We used it from birth. I'm looking for a SSC now that she's bigger because I'd like to be able to wear her while I go about my business and the wrap doesn't feel as secure.

I'm loving my LilleBaby Complete Air Flow. It has six ways to wear. I started baby wearing at 4 weeks and it's the only way she'll nap during the day so it's a lifesaver. DH went out and bought one last weekend for himself.

@scg00387: my yoga instructor gave us the low down on all the different carriers. I really like the idea of the wraps. I will probably just buy a moby. We had a snugli for DD but I never used it.

Have only tried the ergo and love it. I started using it at less than a week old with DS2 with the infant insert. It's great when I need my hands free and baby is cranky and in need of a nap. It's comfortable for me and gender neutral enough that DH uses it too.

We love the ergo. (LO is 6 mos.) She was born at the end of may, so it was too warm for the insert so we got a k'tan for my husband. It was useful, I guess, but not a huge success... he found it very stressful to get on and she took a while to get used to it (that may have just been her personality, but...). I had a Seven sling that was free and I actually really liked it for the early days... not enough support to use once she was bigger, but definitely worth it if you can get it for free with a Pea in the Pod purchase. But we all love the Ergo!

Next time around I might get a ring sling for the newborn days.
