I'm looking through the boards on Pinterest for toddler activities and I realize that I'm apparently sorely lacking in what seem to be essential craft supplies! So I'm starting to make a list of things to be on the look out for when I go to Dollar Tree or yard sales. What do you keep handy for your toddlers to create with?

I have normal things like LOTS of paper, lots of stickers, crayons, markers, colored pencils, fun scissors, various adhesives.
But none of the random stuff like cotton balls, popsicle sticks, etc.

Paper, stickers, crayons, glue stick, finger paints, ribbon, other random items. She loves arts and crafts, but still a little young for scissors, ect.

play dough or some modeling clay for dimensional things
pasta, can be good for gluing activities
bingo markers as stampers
potatos or apples cut in half as stampers
sponges, to cut into shapes for stampers

Here’s our list:
Easel for painting
Big sized art paper (great for coloring on, or for putting down to protect a surface while LO crafts on top of it)
Coloring books
Washable crayons/markers
Washable finger paints
Brushes
Sponges (have found some at Dollar Store, or just cut a regular sponge in half or thirds)
Toilet paper or paper towel tubes pressed into shapes – these are used as stamps (saw this on Pinterest, very easy, works well)
Stickers
Foam shapes
Painter’s Tape (can be restuck many times and does not damage surfaces, so we use it like stickers)
Pom poms
Glitter
Natural items (leaves, sticks, dried flowers, etc.)
Glue stick
String (for string painting)
Scissors
Old, colorful magazines
Large sized stencils
Different shaped paper (tip: you can find packets of shaped paper on sale at crafts shops after the holiday – like hearts on sale super cheap after Valentine’s Day, etc.)
Some small stamps/stampers -
These lists are awesome! I'm going to start stocking up!! I have loads of craft stuff but none of it is really toddler friendly. I can't wait to do some of this stuff with E!!!

Lots of great supplies here, we also have:
- watercolor paper (my kids get very frustrated when they bore a hole in copy paper while painting vigorously)
- cardstock, great for making gift tags and cards
- pastels are very satisfying and bright (although messy)
- popsicle sticks
- beads if your kids are old enough to play with them safely
