LO's second birthday is 11 days away and we have no clue what to get him! Any suggestions? What did your two year old love?

Following! We are going today to check out some scooters - the Micro Mini and the YBike. I want to make sure she can figure it out before we get her one.
Oh and we are doing a kitchen with a shopping cart, play food and all that for Christmas. Boys can have kitchens too! You are training up a good future husband

Her big present was a strider balance bike (from her grandpa). She's still a little young for it but she'll grow into it. I think she would have preferred a scooter though, she can use those at the playground already.
She also really really loved the doctor kit she got for her second bday. Probably one of our most used toys.

Most definitely the biggest success was a wooden train set! It was just a small figure 8 set with a few engines but still played with at age 4+ ( we've gotten some more pieces in the meantime but it was a great age to start). You could do scooter or balance bike but I think of those as more for age 2.5+. Other ideas are Lego duplo and puzzles.

It hasn't even been that long, but I don't even remember. Ha! I will say that @Foodnerd81:'s suggestion, the doctor kit, is a good one. My LO got hers around her 2nd birthday, and loves it. Still plays with it most days. Lego Duplo is awesome too. LO loves hers. If you're looking for something bigger, I'd say kitchen + food, scooter/ride on toy, or a LT slide.

@Foodnerd81: LO has a Doc McStuffins doctor kit that she looooooves! We get daily checkups - very healthy over here

@daniellemybelle: not only does she live it, but playing with it and doing check ups, plus the Daniel Tiger goes to the doctor book, made her two year appt go so much better! She brought her stethoscope and checked my heart before the ped checked hers. And when she comes to my midwife appt she is more comfortable with it too now since we always have checkups at home.
She hasn't seen doc mcstuffins so we just have a generic one.

DH was out of town so we didn't do gifts on her bday and then kind of forgot the next weekend. So we never gave her the gifts. We saved them for raining days. Bubbles, puzzles, craft stuff, it was all little stuff.

We gave her a doctor kit, doll stroller, alphabet puzzle and Daniel Tiger talking doll. The toys she played with most this year were her doctor kit, play kitchen/food/dishes, Brio/Thomas trains and art supplies.

DS's birthday is right after Christmas, so I can't remember exactly which gifts were for what, but there was a roadway play rug from ikea and a framed Oliver Jeffers print to hang in his room.
DD turns 2 soon and I think we are just going to get her some Mini Melissa cat shoes. She loves both cats and shoes!

We got her a one year membership to the 5 NYC zoos. We figured that she probably wouldn't remember a gift from us at this young of an age, and it would ensure many family zoo/aquarium dates throughout the year. She also got a ton of toys from family members, so she still got to open presents, which kind of confirmed our choice to just get a cake and a zoo pass.

My husband says we are getting her a power wheels car. I have not approved yet lol.

@Foodnerd81: I feel like her last doctor's visit went really well because of it, too!

@ladybee: I'm not sure how much you are wanting to spend but we tried out the Micro Mini scooter today and LO totally got the hang of it! I was worried it would be too big/old for her but I don't think so.

My 2year old DS isn't really into trains or trucks but he loves music, so we go him a ukulele, a play violin and a mini accordion. He loves them! He got a play kitchen for xmas when he was 18 months and he still loves that as well. He has a balance bike but doesn't like it yet.
