I'm on the hunt now for something cute to wear to my shower and need ideas! I'm not trying to spend a ton of $$ because I probably won't wear it again unless it's very casual.
Were you happy with what you wore, comfort-wise?

I went with comfort! I wore maternity jeans, flats, a nice shirt, and a sweater. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture.

I wore these two dresses (different showers). They are both from A Pea in the Pod and were both very comfortable. I wore heels with both--I would have been more comfortable in dressy flats, obviously, but I really wanted to wear heels! The dresses from Pea in the Pod are pricey, but I find them all very flattering. They have really good sales, too--I think a week after I bought one of these I saw it on their website for 50% off...fail!

@MrsTiz: I think this one is super cute and it's currently marked down to $19.99 from $89.50!

My shower was very casual and I wore a sundress from Old Navy. (this one: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=93287&vid=1&pid=516516012)
They have even cuter ones on the website now. If you spend over $50 you get free shipping and free return shipping so you can order a bunch and return the ones you don't want. Their sizing varies though so I wear a medium in some things and a large in others, with no rhyme or reason to why.

I wore a dress I bought for a combo of maternity photos and my shower. I got it from Motherhood.

I borrowed a jersey dress from a friend!
It was a sleeveless lavendar knee length dress that had a knot right at chest height so was perfect for the bump. Then I wore a gray shrug with it.

I don't have any pics on my phone but I wore a teal tank and a white skirt.

I had 3 different showers (2 family and a friends) and I wore a maxi dress, a short cotton chevron dress, and a tunic with leggings.

It was December in PA, so I wore jeans and a long sleeved tshirt with a scarf

Mine was Old Navy-they still have it, but they have others I like even more now! It was very comfy and it shows the bump nicely.

both of mine are cook out type baby showers and very casual so I will be wearing my standard uniform of a maternity jean skirt and a V-neck fitted tee from Target with my crock flats. I don't do or feel comfortable in fancy so we are aiming for everyday wear. I know I look and feel cute in my maternity skirt and I live for Target fitted tees so it'll work out. I'll probably put forth extra effort in accessories and my hair/makeup then my everyday air dry, minimum make up.

@lawbee11: I really like both of the dresses you wore. The orange and navy is so dual purpose- work & play.

I wore a cheap dress from forever21, just got a size up from what I normally wear.
I went to a baby shower over the weekend and she was wearing this dress from Target and she looked adorable! It accented her bump so well!

I don't have photos, but I wore dresses to all of mine. I think it's good to at least wear something nice (ie, not jeans- nice maternity pants would be ok, I had some really cute white linen ones that would be cute for a baby shower) but if people are going to the trouble of throwing you a party, you should put in some effort. To ME, that means dressing up, but maybe for other people jeans and a t shirt is dressing nice, I don't know :). It's possible to be comfy in a dress, target makes some really cute maternity maxi dresses.

I wore this (I think it is cuter in person) but I tied the bow off to the side in the front.

@lawbee11: I LOVE the paisley dress!!! It's on clearance now but they don't have my size left

it was so comfy! I'm actually selling it on the classified section

Mine was in the winter so I wore a long sleeve wrap dress. I regretted it thought because at that point it was getting hard to sit with my legs closed in a ladylike fashion for a long time and I was sitting in front of everyone opening gifts. There are too many photos where my legs are open just a liiiiitle too much. Should have gone for comfort and worn pants, lol! I was trying to be stylish & pregnant with my dress and sky high heels but I couldn't pull it off.

@lilyann: just one size up? So jelly. Lol. You looked great!
@bunnylove08: that's a beautiful dress.

@petunia354: that was the reason why i wore a maxi dress. at 36 weeks my legs were not staying closed LOL

I don't have any great pics on my phone (just non-bumptastic from the front ones) my showers were at around 26 weeks anyway so I'm not huge. They were super informal so no sitting/opening gifts or else the short dress would have been iffy! Both are old navy and SUPPPPPER comfy.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@lilyann: you look great in that pic! And the dress you linked that your friend wore looks awesome, like you could wear with leggings for comfort too and it not be weird.

@petunia354: i'm glad you mentioned that, I have a distant cousin who is pregnant with triplets and just put up her shower pictures, she's in a dress and her legs are WIDE open. It's a maxi, but it looks so trashy. I assumed it was because she was so big with the 3 babies and totally not her fault, but I don't think I would want my legs to have to be closed either...hm.
I might look for pants and a cute tank or something.

@MrsTiz: haha, I never thought about the legs thing! Luckily my glider and footstool was gifted at my shower so I propped my feet up with crossed ankles so I was able to avoid that issue!
I got a maxi dress from Motherhood and wore it several times after the shower cause it was so comfy. I wore flat sandals with it.

i wore a dress from asos and a dress from pea in the pod. both would be inappropriate when hot! i would go for a maxi from asos! they were great!

I had a shower at 24 weeks, a shower at 33 weeks and a shower at 36 weeks (different sides of the families). For the 24 weeks I wore a casual jersey dress from Target that I wore multiple times after that. For the 33 weeks one I wore a more dressy dress from Kohl's and for the 36 weeks shower I wore a chevron striped skirt from ON and a white tank.
I think that a maxi skirt (Target has some cute ones) and a tank would look super cute and be comfortable! And you could wear it again.

@kjpugs: We're twins! I wore that to the shower my friends gave!
And for my mom's family shower, I wore this (can't find a picture yet, but it was this dress in green with a black bow! http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=94548910022&MasterCategory_Id=MC3)
I have another this weekend and I am planning on wearing probably a maxi dress since it's been so hot out around here!

@greenebee: YAY twinsies!!! You look so cute in it!

@Mrs. Champagne: @greenebee: Thanks, y'all
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Thanks! It's definitely dual purpose. And it reminded me of Megan Draper, so I had to get it!
@bunnylove08: Gorgeous dress!
@Cara M. 17: Boo! But yeah...I paid more than twice that...total fail!

I wore two dresses from Rosie Pope for my showers that DH actually picked out for me!
I wore the Rose Pope Chloe Shirtdress and one that apparently doesn't exist anymore since I can't find it anywhere online and can't remember the name!

Ha I was super casual at my shower...I wore jeans and a pink maternity top.
