I'm curious because I'm past 35 weeks and still don't think I've had any.
What did your bh contractions feel like?

In my first pregnancy I didn't feel mine until 38 weeks. This time around I've felt them around 34 weeks. Some women never feel them. It varies

I'm pretty sure I've just started getting them in the past couple of weeks (I'm nearly 34 weeks now) and they just feel like a tightening of the stomach muscles. It doesn't hurt at all, it just feels like all of my abdominal muscles are getting really tight and it only lasts for a few seconds before the muscles relax again. I usually find that I get them when I'm doing too much, walking too fast, or bizarrely enough, when I get out of bed at night to make a bathroom run.

lol! we just talked about this in the september thread - I haven't had any, but I was told they are similar to what your pregnant belly feels like after an orgasm

Yep, like others have said-- belly tightening. Sometimes I only knew I was having one because my hand would be on my belly and I could feel it.
@Ree723, actually, I noticed I had more contractions when I had to use the bathroom too. Apparently it's because the bladder is full and pushing against/irritating the uterus?

Feels like uterus clenching - it's not painful, but not exactly comfortable either. My tummy gets super hard (you could bounce a quarter off of it!) during - sometimes all of my uterus, sometimes just part of it.

I feel a wave of tightness come through - it doesn't hurt but it's not exactly comfortable either. It lasts a few seconds and then relaxes.

When I was preggo, I only had BH once when I was 28 weeks. It feels like your tummy is stretching itself out tight. Then after several minutes, it releases.

I am 39 weeks 1 day and have never had one. My doctor said some people just don't get them.

How do you know the difference between the baby pushing her body against you and a BH contraction? Can you tell the difference?

"How do you know the difference between the baby pushing her body against you and a BH contraction? Can you tell the difference?"
I'm having a lot of BH (oh, yay!), and I can tell the difference between baby and BH. The basic difference is my whole bump gets super hard when it's a BH, and if you touch it, you can't feel body parts or curves or things like you can when the baby pushes against you. The whole area goes rigid, not just a baby sized spot. Hope this makes sense.

@mediagirl: I would say the entire abdominal area gets really tight, like rock hard. Not just a spot like PP said. It's super uncomfortable for a minute or so, then relaxes. You will know when it turns into real contractions because it will turn from discomfort to pain, and you won't be able to walk or talk through them!
