DS and LO 2 will be 15-16 months apart. I solo parent 90% of the time already and work full time. It was a rough year just getting a system down wth DS, BUT he is an overall extremely happy and easy baby to care for.
With the small group of people we've told so far, they are excited but very worried for me that ill be caring for 2 under 2 solo. In many ways I think it'll be easier because I won't be as "ftm" and everything is still fresh on my mind. Would you be able to solo parent 2 under 2?

For me, a lot of this would depend on our finances. Could I solo parent and afford to pick up take out dinner if needed? Would we be able to afford a babysitter or extra hours at daycare so I could run an errand without kids if needed? Things like that.

Do you have the option for adding an extra set of hands at times, either with a babysitter or family?

@T.H.O.U.: true! It is definitely hard to cook around here and requires a lot of planning! Even then, DH isn't home so its almost pointless to cook a whole meal a lot of times, which I do miss doing.
I have been putting DS in daycare 3x a week so I can rest and get things done around the house and its been amazing! I'm a teacher so I'm off for a few more weeks. @looch: nope, and that for sure has been tough! Occasionally a neighbor or friend can watch DS for a couple hours if I have a meeting, but that hasn't been until recently since he's bf still.

I couldn't..... but I get migraines. I depend on DH coming home (I'm a SAHM) so I can get some rest in the evenings!

being pregnant and having one has been a beating but I know it'll get better! Nausea, headaches, EXHAUSTION...

@matador84: I guess the good news is that the kids would most likely be eating a lot of the same foods. So its not like you would have to fix a real meal for you and a 4 year old and then food for a baby.

@matador84: Yes! Chasing an almost two year old around while pregnant and exhausted isn't easy. I'm not thinking about what it will be like when the baby is out of my belly, freaks me out too much! I admire you women who are able to do it on your own. I watch that clock when it gets close to 5 so I know DH will be home and I can just lay.

@artbee: on the few nights I know dh is coming home--he is an 80 mile drive away--I start blowing his phone up at 4, when are you coming home, when are you leaving, you better get in your car in 5 minutes...ha!!! Most nights he doesn't get home until 6 or 7 if he is comin home! Being a SAHM is a tough job!

@Andrea: I think they're going to have to this time around! I am lucky to have a pretty strong network of friends who help occasionally with DS right now...but I'm thinking a sitter would be nice so I can get a break! Especially weekends when DH is on call. OMG.
