Mom? Mama? Mommy? Etc.. Did you choose what you wanted to be called and prompt your LO or did their name for you evolve on it's own?

I always say "mama" to my son when referring to myself but he always says "mommy" when addressing me. He's 19 months.

Mom. Thats what DH calls me when he's talking to her, so she got it from him.

Mommy. That's the name that DH uses to refer to me. He started out with mama, which then progressed to mommy.

@Anya: yes. We both call each other babe a lot so sometimes she just walks around saying it but sometimes she uses it to get my attention (She's 16 months)

My LO just recently switched from mama and dada to mommy and daddy. I would be sad about him growing up except the way he pronounces dadddyyy is soooo cute it makes it easier on me.

"mama" - she's just 16 months old though so I'm sure it will be "mommy" eventually. When she switches to "mom", that's when I'll really cry!

She started calling me mommy around 20 months. Before that I was mama! When she uses a voice for her baby dolls they always say mama

For now he calls me Dada. He also calls his father and grandparents Dada but he does it with such excitement I can't be too disappointed. We refer to me as Mommy but try to get him to say Mama because it seems easier. He's 13 months.

He still calls both of us dada, lol. He says something that sounds like mama, but it means "more". As in, more food

Mama. Very conscious effort not to be mommy. My older daughter now corrects people and says "I don't have a mommy, I have a mama!"

@Mrs. Sunshine: Haha my DD does this too!
I used to be exclusively mama and DH dada. Now it goes back and forth between mama/mommy/mom, and DH is always daddy/dad, never dada anymore.

Mama. I originally wanted to be called mommy, but I'm glad it turned out this way. I ordered Xmas stockings before LO was born (mine says Mommy) and I've been meaning to replace it.
