My parents want to be called something perhaps more creative... My in laws strongly rejected the thought of being called something other than Grandma Last Name / Grandpa Last Name (kind of annoyed at their lack of flexibility but will respect their wishes). What do your LOs call their grandparents?

My parents are Nana and Papa, and DH's parents are Baba and Dudu (spin off of the Russian word for grandpa that LO couldn't pronounce).

My nieces and nephews call all of their grandparents grandma and grandpa but use the last name if they have to distinguish between them. I generally think it is up to the grandparents what they are called (as long as the LOs go along with it).

My mom is Mims (meems) and my dad is Grandaddy.
DH's mom is Abuelita and his dad is Abuelo Raul. -
Oma/Opa for my parents. Grandma and Papa for his. She does not talk yet but that is what refer to them as for now.

My parents are grandma and grandpa, which is what my nieces already called them, and my in-laws are nina and pop (nina rhymes with my mil's name and is what the toddler of a close family friend whose like a niece to mil/cousin to dh already calls her)

My mom and dad are nonni and grandpa and mil is barbar (her name is Barbara)

DD is still too little to call them anything but they all have different things they refer to themselves as.
My parents: Babushka and Dedushka (Russian for grandma and grandpa)
DH's mom and step dad: Nonna and Grandpa First Name
DH's dad and step mom: Grandma and Grandpa.

Grandma and grandpa in their native tongues (Chinese and Khmer).

My parents are grandma and pop pop (what my nephew called them). dHs mom is Mo-mo (her choice, not my fave), his dad is granddad. His dad's wife is just Beth, no grandma or anything.
I think it's easier having different words, rather than having to be. Grandma lastname.

My parents are Grandma and Gumpy (DD1's earliest pronunciation of Grandpa; my dad loved it so it has stuck!). DH's parents are Nana and Papa.

My MIL mentioned wanting to be called Mama when I was pregnant with my LO so I nipped that in the bud and said they'd be grandma and grandpa. I was NOT okay with sharing the mama designation with anyone.
So because of that, both sets of grandparents are just grandma and grandpa with the exception of my own grandmother who is Gigi to my kids.

My MIL didn't want to be called grandmother (in her native language) when she became a grandmother over 11 years ago, but my son refused to call her that nickname his cousins do and he calls her grandmother, much to my amusement.
Sometimes, the kids make the decision and you'd be surprised how accomodating the grandparents can be!

My parents are Grammy and Grandpa, IL's are Grampy and Nana. A year and a half later and I still have to think about who gets called what, and I always want to lump Grammy and Grampy together. I grew up with all the grandparents called Grandma or Grandpa. Could be worse though, my mom wanted to be called Mimi, which I vetoed because I think it sounds too much like Mommy.

my parents are "halmeh" and "halbeh" shortened versions of grandma / grandpa in korean. (DS came up with both)
ILs are "maya" and "papa" (DS came up with both).

My mother is currently Grandma K (just the letter, but her name's Katie). She's moving in with us in a few months, though, and thinks that's too formal, so she's trying on new names. Right now she's between Gran and Oma (the latter has my vote). Well she really wants to be called Tink but I vetoed that.
We don't really talk to or see my other parents (E has met my dad once), but they're are Grandpa/Grandma firstname.
