I've been talking to the baker who is making DS's cake, and he's going to have a banana cake (think more like banana bread flavor, rather than artificial banana). She made our banana wedding cake, and bananas are DS's favorite food (and first real word!)

I'm going to make him a lemon cake, because this kid can suck on lemons and limes with nary a pucker and will cry when we take them away.

Funfetti. I let my nephew pick, was trying to let him feel somewhat involved since it was the first kid birthday party he had been to that wasn't for him and I was guessing based on history that it wasn't going to go well!

I made a banana cake sweetened with bananas and some a touch of brown sugar. It was moist because of the bananas. I also mashed up bananas and cream cheese for banana cream cheese frosting.

Carrot cake! Nomnomnom. I love banana bread, too. Very cool idea to have his cake be the same flavor as your wedding cake! Our cake was gross, otherwise I'd wish I'd thought of that

Chocolate with cream cheese filling. The cake was all about what I wanted. LO really dug into it though!

It was zucchini, and it tasted kind of like carrot cake? She LOVED it. She liked the icing best though - whipped coconut cream and breast milk to sweeten.

@grizz: We just had one made for R's smash cake pics. It was vanilla with strawberry filling/icing. For being milk, egg, soy, and gluten free (allergies), I was really impressed!

I made a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting but also made M a smash cake that was a banana bread-type cake. There was no sugar or eggs in her actual cake but I put the same frosting on it.

@rachiecakes: no nuts. Just bananas. I was more concerned about choking hazards if she decided to go nuts on the cake.
