On the odd occasion that I can't gather an outfit and dress LO and have to get DH to do it, he ends up dressing her in a new pair of pjs. Seriously. He thinks it's cute: "But it has an elephant on it!" OMG.
Is your DH good at picking clothes for LO to wear?

LOL.. If I ask him to dress LO he looks at me with a blank stare.. when I had to go on travel for work, I had to lay out outfits for LO for everyday I was gone, including sleepers and sleep sacks.

Hahaha, last time I told DH to dress C, she came out in a pink onesie with a cupcake on it and a fluffy pink tutu skirt. "It's so cute!" he said.

When I ask DH to dress our son, 14 months, he does a great job. But our daughter, 6 weeks? He always asks me what to put on her so I'm having to mentally flip through what's clean and what's not to try and pick out an outfit.

My husband actually really likes to dress her. And most of the time he does a pretty good job. Usually I dress her, but on the days he does it, he gets annoyed with me if I lay out clothes for him. Yesterday he actually made an executive decision that the socks I left out were not the best match for the outfit and changed them. The day care teacher was laughing so hard because the first thing I said when I picked her up was "those are NOT the socks I left out this morning" and apparently my husband had told her that would be the first thing I said!!

I think my husband secretly loves dressing her. He has been doing the morning feed and change lately and he picks out every outfit. The girl doesn't even match when I dress her, lol. Three days ago it was an elephant jammy set, two days ago it was a bear, yesterday it was a butterfly onesie....he's into it

@Rubies: When forced by circumstances to dress Olive, I will pull up Bee's instagram, and find an outfit that Bee selected previously and recreate it as closely as I can.

He will purposely pick out something that doesn't match because he thinks it's cute and funny. His excuse is being colorblind.... But he can still see patterns. I do admit though, lo usually does look cute because it looks like she dressed herself.

Haha umm...he once dressed her in flower pants with a different flowered shirt. I just said thank you so much for dressing her today, that's very helpful! Now I just go in and pick out the outfits for her first lol.

He's usually pretty good, DH loves clothes (for himself) and has a pretty decent eye. I lay out her outfits most days because I don't like her going to daycare in 'good' clothes or stuff that I really like and don't want to wear out.

DH is surprisingly good at it. Except he always tries to pick something that says "I love Daddy" or something on it. Blah. I try to save all of the gross "I love ____" outfits for days I work.

Since we're having a boy I will trust DH to pick out outfits since most of his clothes are like mini versions of DH's clothes. If we ever have a girl though... Lord help us. It will be a hot mess!

DH dresses her every weekday morning because he's at home with her and I'm a WOHM. He usually just grabs a shirt and pants from the top of each stack in the drawer, so this often results in mixing patterns in an...interesting way. For the next size up in clothing, I tried to buy mostly patterned shirts and solid colored pants so everything can be mix and match. But don't tell DH I'm secretly micromanaging him!

Mr Jacks has a few go to favorites. So I know if he dresses her, she'll likely wear red polka dot pants and ice cream truck shirt. He's better with the baby, but there's still one outfit he prefers on her!
I think he tries to go for outfits that he knows I'll like

If I ask DH to dress her, he'll ask me what to put her in. He knows that I prefer to leave sleepers at home or for backup outfits at daycare. I remember one time when DH was home with LO and was supposed to meet me somewhere, he brought her wearing a pastel striped creeper with bright red ladybug pants. When I asked him for something from the diaper bag, he handed me a bottle and nipple in her bottle bag, didn't bring diapers, wipes, spit-up cloth or toy.

hahaha...my DH is the same.
If I don't say anything, my DS will be in the same PJ's all day from the night before. If I ask him to change his clothes, he'll put him in another set of PJs or in clothes that he's outgrown (like pants that are too short, but fit around the waist).

He gets her washed up and dressed in the morning, but I pick the clothes she will wear for the day. If he has to pick her clothes, it's a disaster!!

He does the same thing. PJ's or a onesie with nothing on the bottom or top and normally the onesie buttons aren't done or aren't completely done. And if the PJ's are zip? She looks like this guy:

My husband will put her in pajamas and thinks because a bottom has polka dots on it and a top has polka dots on it they match....even though they don't go together at all. Before I leave for business trips I lay out every outfit for her for the week, including socks!

@mrbee: I swear my husband does the same thing. I was out of town for 4 days and he dressed LO. All the outifts he wore were something he had worn the previous week that I had just washed and put away!

@mrbee: Ha ha!. Nope, not at all. It's just funny, because the kid has soooooo many clothes (thanks to my mom and sister who love to shop). The alternative is, he dresses him in something very similar to DH, which cracks me up (i.e. similar colored polo and jeans)!

Mr. Chalk actually has a far far better sense of fashion than I do. If I could, I would defer all clothes shopping (including my own) and dressing of the kids to him.

Carter's has these cute onesie/dress combos out for summer. I bought a ton of them as it simplifies things for DH. He approves. He only has to find socks.

He gets so stressed out. I got this text from him yesterday:
"Dressing her for the day is literally the hardest part of parenting. I am so stressed out."
He has such a hard time with it. He seems to try too hard to make her look cute, so when I come home she is usually in tights, a jean skirt, a t shirt, sweater on top, shoes, a bow, the whole nine yards. and they're just hanging out around the house!

I had LO in a onesie and stocking tights and when she woke up from her nap, DH just brought her downstairs as is even though we had company!
I came upstairs from the office and was like, WTH, why isn't she wearing pants??
Then one day he had one of her sweaters on backwards. "I thought the buttons went on the front!"

Hubs is a fan of jeans/pants/overalls over the existing pajamas, including footie pjs. Also a fan of just putting shoes on over the footies. Hubs tries to justify it by saying it is cold and he should have layers on. Riiiiight, we live in SoCal, its not that cold.
