I heard Dunkin Donut is coming to California in 2015 and I am dying to know why it is so popular! What are your favorite things from DD?

Coffee and donuts. I grew up with it in FL though. I miss it so much more now that we don't have it in CA

I like their iced coffee. And donuts. Mmm donuts. I like the frosted chocolate cake ones.
They don't have them in CA?

Dunkin Donuts is such a comfort thing for me. I guess it's because they are such a fixture around here that just seeing that cup gives me a good feeling! I also think their coffee is really good! I like that you can pick from the flavor list - toasted almond is the BEST!

I could be wrong, but I thought Cali did have them bc my aunt owns a donut shop in Santa Ana and I though it was Dunkin Donuts.... She owns her own "label" now, but previously...

@Alivoo01: Hmmm, I think they closed in 2002?

I love DD! Their iced coffees are amazing. I'm also a huge fan of their doughnuts and munchkins.

Honestly, I'd rather have Krispy Kreme over Dunkin Donuts. We don't have either here. It's pitiful.

My husband LOVES their coffee. I don't drink coffee so I have no idea what is so great about it. I do prefer their donuts over any other donut.

The closest DD to us in SoCal is in Camp Pendleton (Marine base-- I don't think we're allowed to go unless you are visiting someone on base? Not sure. Also you can go for some public events, like the annual mud run) or Vegas.
I don't get the appeal either...

I like krispy Kreme. But really any donut will make me happy.

We don't have a Dunkin Donuts nearby. Here it's all about Shipley's.

I may in the minority...but I don't like DD's donuts. They taste so chemically to me!

I don't get DD either, but I'm a Canadian that doesn't like Tim Hortons either.... I'm just not a coffee drinker.

@autumnlove: Well, my hubby is at TH every day and loves their coffee, but I just don't get it. I've tried DD, but only for some sort of orange juice smoothie thingy. That was good though.

Mmmm I'm a big fan of cake donuts so, I love them. Their jelly filled HOLES are spectacular. My big meltdown while pregnant was for a DD bagel with sausage and egg and cheese. It had to be dunkin.

Munchkins! They were my craving throughout pregnancy. I ate
Several a week. It didn't help that there is a Dunkin in the lobby of my office.
I'm shocked they don't have them in CA...I thought "American runs on dunkin."

DH is from New England where it's a fixture, so his family and friends love it. It's one of the earliest coffee and donut chains that I can think of from this area of the country. People love the coffee, especially because you can get a big, cheap portion. I find that their drinks tend to be very, very sweet. I am not a big coffee drinker, and there are much better places to get donuts, in my opinion.

I don't like doughnuts, but I love DD's coffee. And their holiday flavors. Pumpkin spice rocks. I think their breakfast sandwiches are petty tasty, too.

@Rubies: @oliviaoblivia: lol, I LOVE Timmys! But I don't drink coffee, only tea and it's cheap and nice!

I don't know what the fuss is about...I don't think DD is that great. Shipley Do-Nuts is waaaaaay better!

Nom. I like that the donuts aren't sugar-coma sweet, like Krispy Kreme. They also have good breakfast sandwiches and lots of people loooove the coffee.

I love their powdered donuts that are filled with chocolate cream. They just remodeled the DD near our house and it's all weird now like they're trying to be Tim Horton's.
The best donuts here are definitely at the Donut Cafe. I love that place. They have cherry and blueberry donuts that are SO GOOD . And the owner used to give me free donuts when I was a poor college student with no car because he felt bad for me. That definitely garnered some never dying loyalty!

I love doughnuts, and HATE dunkin donuts. I don't understand why ppl like them so much here in NYC/Nj but I'm guessing its just lack of exposure to decent fresh donuts... There's only a handful of non DD places in all of manhattan, like donut plant.
That's one of the things I miss most about Texas-- the mom and pop donut shops on every corner, all owned by Koreans and all made fresh, right in front of you. And I miss the yummy kolaches, too!!
My biggest complaints about DD is that ALL the donuts are dry, very single time. They taste stale no matter what time of day. As a donut lover, this makes me saaaaaad.

@Anagram: I LOVE Doughnut Plant! I've been wanting to try Dough here in Brooklyn for awhile, but I haven't had a chance Like I said, it's a long-time chain, so there is a lot of love for it here (unfortunately). Maybe I need to make a trip to Texas.

I don't like DD..the coffee is pretty gross, IMO. I prefer Starbucks or little coffee shops. Even Caribou is pretty good.
DD doughnuts aren't too bad.
