Historical tour guide on a horse and buggy ride probably? I also spent a summer as a working student at a horse training facility. I traded labour (cleaning stalls, feeding, training young horses) for coaching from a very talented rider on my own horse. It was a blast!

@prettylizy: Ha! I did that too! I mucked stalls, repaired fences, anything the stable needed done in exchange for dressage lessons. I did that for years.

I worked in a music shop one summer. I felt like I was working at Empire Records. I LOVED that job!!

Once I dressed up as Barney (the dinosaur) in front of a chiropractors office for $25. I was 13, and it was only for a day.

My very first job, in high school, was at a doggie boutique/bakery/kennel/groomer. The owners ran a blue heeler rescue organization (this was in Oklahoma where there are a lot of blue and red heelers in need). It was an OK job but what was really funny was when they started giving me the key to open up on the weekends. I thought I had made the big time but then I realized once I opened up that it meant I had to clean up all any dog poo and pee in the kennel (they had taken in a stray puppy named Sammy who had a bigtime incontinence problem) and get all the dogs outside and relieved while managing incoming grooming clients. It was really hectic -- and messy!

One summer during college I had a job weeding gravesides at a cemetery. That was pretty weird.

Lithic analyst (which rocks were just rocks, and which were stone tools or refuse from stone tool production), curation at the temporary Flight 93 Memorial (people left really odd stuff), and customer service in a bakery (because people can be strange).
