I love that in a roundabout way, I'm helping clients, almost none of whom are in good life situations, get a foot hold. My part is currently very small, but I think I'm still an important cog.
Plus, I really, really like the other girls I work directly with, and get along very well with them 
When I was a SAHM, I loved being able to snuggle with a sleepy baby in bed in the AM, instead of having to get us up and out the door.

as a photographer, i love being invited in to document couples in love, growing families in pivotal moments in their lives! it also gives me a flexible schedule to WAH and hang with DD.

There are a lot of things I really like: My boss is amazing, I have a ton of autonomy and flexibility, and there are a lot of fun perks. Too bad it stopped being challenging 4 years ago...

I do like they understand I solo parent and worked with me on changing my hours so we could switch her day care (which has been so much better for her and me).

That it's so darn flexible!! I love that I can go take care of things or go to dr appts, etc. without any hassle or explanation to my boss. I can leave early, if needed or work from home and not have to use PTO.

The location! 5-10 minutes from my house, depending on how many other cars are at the stop signs
AND, daycare is exactly halfway between the two, so I don't have any wasted time/driving.
I was seriously so giddy about it while interviewing!

My office is in my home, so I have zero commute, don't have to do makeup and on my breaks I can make dinner, throw a load of laundry, wash bottles, take a shower, workout.
My work/life balance is great.

the loves. i get a lot of lovin i love seeing them become amazing little people, i'm so proud of all my nanny LOs over the years. maybe i've just been really lucky, but they're all such beautiful little souls and sometimes i like to think i've helped them to understand how to be their best selves, that makes me proud, they make me proud.

The flexibility--I'm so thankful! I don't have to punch a clock, can roll in late if need be, don't have to take time off for doctor's appts, often get to head out a little early. I feel very fortunate.

Two jobs, two different answers.
Aid work? Seeing a person "graduate" from needing my help. Every time one of my students made it into the public school system I just wanted to burst with happiness. I can't wait to get back to doing this job.
Doula-ing? Babies!!!! Well, that and seeing mamas beaming with pride and saying "I did it!". Love that moment.
