Time to spend or time to save? Right now, I'm in total savings mode but we need to buy some convertible car seats!

lol right now it's.. ok, what bills need paying, how much "fun money" do I have for this weekend... and does the amount of fun money I have each week = the amount day care and other baby things will cost?! I have some spreadsheets open every pay day. Little bit obsessive

hooray for bills? It's all spend these days, we don't make enough on one income to save at this point.

Right now since I havent been working its more about paying bills first plus we are spending a bit to have a formal after party for LO's baby dedication with over 200 guests its almost like a wedding reception all over again. In a few months when I have paid off my hospital bill then I will go back to saving more

I don't even notice pay day. The day I care about is the 21st because on the 20th my credit card bill and my mortgage are paid. So by the 21st all of our big bills for the month are paid so then I look at the checking account to see how far above our "checking account cushion" we are, and move all the rest to our investment account and/or the account we started to save for baby.

My entire paycheck goes into savings (which is so great, I know we can live off of one income when I stay at home!). A large of the money is intended to go to our future down payment on a house and furnishing it.

My work always pays us on weird days and I never know when that is... so my reaction is pretty muted. Right now we're going for an impossible out of reach savings goal, so there is not much spending going on!

I always move money to savings accounts first...and then whatever is left over is spent on bills/stuff we need. not much fun!

Pay bills/move into savings per our budget spreadsheet (@Bookworm: me too!!). Then whatever's left just gets spent throughout the pay period. I am a lot better, I used to go to the mall as soon as the paycheck hit my account!
