I wore sparky purple eyeliner (Stila shadow in Cassis) almost every day during my junior year in college. I didn't own a digital camera at the time...yay!

Frosted pink eyeshadow all over my lids...And nothing else. Yuck! I was in high school.

Hmm...no makeup all through college? I mean honestly, I looked like a dead girl walking.

@TurtleDoves: you are gorgeous and you don't need any!

My worst is probably a tie between foundation that was the wrong color, bad bronzer, and wonkily applied eyeliner.

I didn't blend in my setting powder well at my rehearsal and rehearsal dinner so all of my pictures show my face as super white and blotchy! Embarrassing!

I had embarrassingly thin eyebrows in junior high. I have no idea why my parents even allowed me a pair of tweezers. Thank goodness they are in *far* better shape, now.

For Ring Dance in high school I went heavy/dark for everything - dark smokey eyes, bold blush, and red red lipstick. It was awful. You could tell I had never really done much makeup before and I just went completely overboard. I wish I could burn those photos...

Oh gawd, what did I do makeup-wise that WASN'T embarassing... I had an awwwwful eyebrow phase as well in 8th grade (thanks to one awful wax job...), then I got hooked on glitter for awhile...and then in college thought that the pearly-pinkish lip look was tooootally awesome--OH, and that it complemented my fake bake tan nicely. Ugh.

Before I ever knew about plucking eyebrows and filling them in (my mom didn't ever do makeup), I tried to use mascara to draw my eyebrows during a choir show. Luckily, my friend stopped me and educated me in threading and filling in with s pencil!

Not buying a new color of foundation in the summer! I have this AWFUL picture where I was gorgeously dark tan but I had put on makeup from the winter and my face just looked awful. I would have looked better going without altogether!

@prettylizy: But you *puffyheart* color (and look fabulous doing it!)?!

Hmmm...in middle school I over-plucked my eyebrows and they looked terrible.
I also totally rocked the 90s sky-blue eyeshadow, I think from my lash line all the way up to my brows. UGH. It took me a LONG time to figure out eye shadow.

1999 was a baaaaddd year.

@prettylizy: On your inner rims? Lash line? Pictures?!?

Oh gosh... glitter. I was in middle school though.
As an adult? Probably just foundation and powder being too thick, I didn't understand how to build and create good coverage on my face until I stopped shopping at MAC!

Glitter-and lots of it! I had those stackable tubes of every color of loose glitter from Claire's, shimmer powders in every color to use as eye shadow, glitter gel and roll on glitter. Why did I feel the need to be so sparkly? This lasted from high school into college.

That one time I covered my entire eyelids up to my eyebrows with gold shimmer eyeshadow for Christmas. It was sooooo bright. So festive I guess?

No blush, for years. I refer to that as my "vampire" decade.

When I was first allowed to wear mascara I guess I took a 'more is better' approach. I looked like the love child of Marilyn Manson and a tarantula.
No. Just....no.

Eyebrows. Horribly thin eyebrows. I hate seeing photos of me with them! Why didn't my mother ever say anything to me?

I'm so guilty of so many of these! White eye liner - tick. Glitter - yep. No blush - mmhmm. Oh and in college I thought brown lipstick looked good....in the middle of winter with my ghostly white skin. Bad, bad call on that one. Oh and I didn't realise until I was 20 (TWENTY!!!) that I was supposed to pluck my eyebrows. For a girl who has dark, thick eyebrows, this was a very bad thing!
As for now, I just don't bother with makeup unless we're going out for the evening. And even then, it's a swipe of mascara, some neutral eyeshadow, a hint of blush, and a light coat of a subtle lipstick. On a day to day basis though - none. Beauty fail.

It sounds like we are all victims on 90s makeup trends!

Bright colored eyeshadow to match every outfit. I thought I was so cool and stylish doing this as a teen

thin eyebrows + thick black eyeliner. @HabesBabe: ditto!

I used to love to wear baby blue eye shadow and no other make-up, looking back I am alittle embarassed.

For those of you lamenting your too-thin 90's brows, you certainly weren't the only ones . . .

@MsLipGloss: Who ever decided those looked good?! And so high maintenance! Ain't nobody got time for that!

In middle school I wasn't allowed to wear makeup besides lip gloss, so I would put colored lip gloss on my eyes as eye shadow... soooo ridiculous
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@grizz: *shrug* You would think that we had already learned that lesson . . . but apparently not so much!

I was goth in high school and I used to rock the black lipstick and eyeliner drawn all over my face.
Yeah... not a good look for anyone, IMO.

I sucked at makeup back then too, so all I ever did was eyeliner on my bottom lash line (purple!!) and powder.
