What kind of food can you tolerate when you have nausea? I haven't eaten much today...Clif bars, saltines and water!

Baked potatoes were really good for me when morning sickness flared up. They are really bland but still filling and somewhat nutritious if you eat the skin.

I had that a LOT up till about 15-16 weeks. Like @mamamoose and @mrs.bee, I ate a lot of fruit and potato items (baked potatoes, french fries, mashed potatoes). Light, brothy soups were also good.

White rice, baked potatoes, crackers, cream of wheat, and frozen fruit (mango, pineapple, blueberries, raspberries).

Ditto on the pasta with a little butter. I tend to eat a ton of carbs when I'm sick...love plain bagels without anything on them. Saltines, toast with peanut butter, Wheat Thins, and Jell-o all work for me, too.

Edemame, chicken soup/broth, cereal, cold drinks and constantly chewing gum to get rid of the metallic taste.
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
Toasted bagels...lived off of them my first trimester.
I also lived off of honey bunches of oats and veggie subs from
Subway

@rachiecakes: I had brown rice with butter for dinner!

My favorite snack was saltines with cream cheese and a glass of apple juice.

Pizza and apples for some reason. Generally white carbs are pretty appealing, and besides cold fruit, I'm really craving hot food. Weird.

Pringles! The saltiness helps me. Or Gardetto's. Also bagels, toast, bananas, cereal and Dr. Pepper.

Since we do the Paleo thing now, I have had some trouble with this. I try to stick to it as much as possible, even when nothing sounds good so I have had a lot of fruit (mostly grapes and apples), Trader Joe's plantain chips for something salty and crunchy, popcorn (not paleo, but it is bland and keep something in my tummy), and Lara Bars.

Here is a list of literally the *only* things I have been able to eat the last few weeks.
Taco Johns - potato oles
Little Debbie oatmeal creme pies
slightly sweet cereal (cocoa krispies, frosted mini wheats)
strawberry smoothies from Target
Pepperoni pizza (sometimes)

I keep seeing posts where people take pictures of their healthy food... usually fish.. like salmon.. everywhere. I.want.to.puke
even on the blog here. lol... sorry!

@justlikeheaven - it is funny you say that. We haven't bought fish for the past few weeks because the thought of it totally disgusted me. I did want shrimp, though? Go figure. But I saw a coupon for salmon today and now all of a sudden I want salmon. So I guess I will go use my coupon.

It was mostly fruits and vegetables. I remember eating a lot of strawberries!!
And protein was *usually* ok... but I remember having a chicken aversion.

I lived off of turkey sandwiches with both pregnancies. Otherwise, when the nausea was at it's worst, I tried to drink my calories in the form of smoothies, protein drinks, shakes, etc...

I go back to the comfort food of my childhood. Ramen noodles. I never had such bad nausea that I couldn't eat regular food, but I had ramen for dinner a couple nights in a row. I also like jello and mandarin oranges...all things my mom fed me when i was sick as a child

@T-Mom: I forgot about ginger candy! I bought a huge box of Chimes Ginger Chews last year...maybe I can find it!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@JustlikeHeaven: Me too. Pizza and fried egg and cheese sandwiches are pretty much the most palatable thing these days.
coconut / 8681 posts
Definitely carbs. I had a big chicken aversion. Bagels were good, toast with peanut butter and baked potatoes were the absolute best!
