Well considering I married a pro athlete we'll go with jock. But I swear he's smart too!!
pineapple / 12526 posts
Nerd/musician. He loves video games, computers, movies, gadgets and history (especially war/WWII history) but also plays guitar, bass and drums and is very into music. He used to be in a band.

@Rubies: hahaha love your description!
I would describe DH as sexy contractor athlete!

Goody two shoes?
Haha seriously, DH is such a gentle, kind, compassionate man. He's never done anything bad in his life!
nectarine / 2274 posts
I guess he was a badass when we first met in high school. Now he's a big nerd, he's a software engineer and loves video games.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I am married to a nerd. His nerd speciaty is mobile phones and now 3D printing.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I married someone athletic. I wouldn't call him a jock because he wasn't very popular in high school. Aren't jocks always a part of the popular crowd?
coconut / 8861 posts
Nerd with a girl's name! I knew the instant I met him, I was going to be the one married to a guy with a girl's name. He's a total nerd. To relax, he programs and plays games on Steam. A couple of days ago, I set an alarm for him to go to bed at a reasonable hour because he was going to bed at 3-4am. He's also musical too. He was in band in high school.

@MamaMoose: LOL!
@Mrs. High Heels: Does that mean you're the badass one of the fam??
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
Guys' guy/jock. I can't imagine being with anyone else.
@MamaMoose: Who'd you marry?!?!?!?1
coconut / 8472 posts
@looch: Haha, my DH thinks 3D printing is the coolest thing ever. So I guess I married a nerd too. But he's cute and lovable and the sweetest guy ever :).
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@Rubies: Actually, yes! You don't even want to know. I was pretty badass though you would never guess it now.
hostess / eggplant / 11068 posts
@looch: My husband's new HOBBY (as in, just for fun) is learning about 3D printing. Nerd.
pineapple / 12526 posts
@looch: Our DH's would be friends. He just spent about 2 weeks trying to convince me to let him buy a 3D printer!
nectarine / 2031 posts
I dint know what he is....I guess kind of jock and outdoors man but not mountain man...like dive into the ocean with a spear and comes out with a fish or an octopus.
coconut / 8861 posts
@loveisstrange: We have friends of ours who have one. We've heard countless stories of him trying to calibrate it. There's a 3D printing place across the river downtown. I want to do a lunch date with DH to get us printed one day.

DH is an outdoorsy type. He's not a need or a jock but he's a hands on, woodsy mans man haha
He's the guy you'd wanna get lost in the woods with, he'd be able to survive off the land
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Nerd who's a wannabe jock. He used to be very athletic and played a bunch of sports, did mountain biking, skiing, hiking, etc. But now he just sits and home and plays video games, haha. Also, he's a software engineer, so definitely a nerd.
bananas / 9899 posts
Geek/Nerd, but also a business man. He plays video games, builds computers, loves science fiction, is a developer... but he's also fantastic with money, an excellent salesman and a workaholic.
He's also pretty outdoorsy and loves camping, fishing and hiking and is always in awe of natural phenomenon.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@MrsCB: @Rubies: @loveisstrange: I love that there are other husbands out there that know what this contraption is! I feel like sometimes, I just don't get his hobbies!!!!!!

I married a man's man. He is pure man and is also hilarious, can play any sport, and is also ridiculously smart. His math skills freak me out. He is also a Godly man which is the most important!
coconut / 8430 posts
DH is an athletic nerd! Loves to play and watch sports and he is also a fantastic software developer.
kiwi / 742 posts
I married a jock. Which of course is funny because I think had we met in high school I wouldn not have been his type.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
I married an FFA president! He's a down to earth country boy. Rugged and definitely not a pretty boy, although he is handsome! Deer hunter, turkey hunter, fisher, an all that.
I was a rebellious artsy girl in school who hung out with the party crowd who smoked cigarettes and thought FFA was silly. How funny fate is!

He doesn't really fit any one stereotype... except that he may come off as a redneck at times. But, he's a very hardworking, generous and loving man who makes me laugh daily with his witty remarks.
cherry / 133 posts
DH is a man who doesn't fit any mold. He works in football but on the tech end of things with a little artistic license thrown in. That complexity is the reason why I fell for him in the first place! :0)
apricot / 377 posts
I married a nerd/bad ass. He's a major math nerd who now works in finance, but has always had a bad ass streak. Now tack on the super domestic and borderline-OCD. As in he was nesting long before I ever was.
pomegranate / 3113 posts
Hmm, I don't really know how to characterize DH...he is a professional musician, likes some outdoorsy/sporty stuff but not typical things like baseball or football, likes science and video games but not to the point of being a '"nerd"...
kiwi / 662 posts
I'd say he's a guys guy - can play any sport very well. He is knowledgable about all sports and music (plays the drums). He's a great poker player and is very smart, particularly with math. Not sure what category he'd fit in!
pomegranate / 3032 posts
Outdoorsy/Science Nerd - He's an eagle scout that is still involved with his troop and goes camping once a month with the teens. He's a biologist/Health & Safety specialist - hell our dog is named Darwin.
grapefruit / 4136 posts
I married a badass nerd he was a roughneck for 10the years but moonlight's as a computer gaming geek haha!
nectarine / 2932 posts
Hm. He's a outdoorsy/country kind of guy. He likes hunting, fishing, being outside. He works in the landscaping field. He likes history (especially civil war), and is a great people person...but hates reading and watching movies, and he was horrible in school...can't spell his way out of a paper bag, but I can, so we fit pretty well!
pear / 1998 posts
@loveisstrange: Mine is a nerd/musician too. He's a scientist and loves trivia, so nerd. He also plays a few instruments, mostly guitar, and is a huge music buff. We usually see at least 2 concerts a month. Jock would never come to my mind - he isn't exactly beefy - but he does play hockey and baseball regularly and is a total nerd about sports stuff (fantasy football and baseball) and will watch any sport on tv.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
He's a geek. Technically a computer geek.... as that's his job. His hobby (turned into side job) is genealogy. He wears geeky glasses. We go good together
eggplant / 11824 posts
NERD. We're both at home today, working, and he has been interrupting me all morning with amusing stories about Alexander Hamilton. Well, amusing if you are a NERD!!!
pear / 1992 posts
@cascademom: Steam... My husbands ultimate time suck. I have also set an alarm for DHbecause many times a week, I wake him up on the couch after he's fallen asleep on the couch.
It's hard to characterize my DH, too. He's not too athletic anymore, but he follows pretty much every sport and has fantasy leagues and brackets. He's also a metalhead- plays guitar/drums and could once be found at our local music venue every weekend. Majored in journalism and music theory, loves wacky comedy and Adult Swim...
Whatever kind of guy he is, he's perfect for me
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@looch: I'm super jealous!! I might have to come up to meet you just so I can see his 3D printer in action!!!
@MrsMcD: Hahaha, no one you would know, but my husband played in the NFL for a while.
