And do you like it? We have to buy one for our new house and I can't decide what would be best - side by side or French 3 door (the drawer at the bottom) or what!
I have a side by side now and like it but just want to make sure that's my best option!

I love the French three door. I was hesitant to switch to that after having a side by side but my parents convinced me and they were so right. It's amazing how much more space you get.

We have one with the freezer on the bottom, but not the french door. I HATE it with a passion. The freezer "pit" on the bottom is the worst. I got a stand up freezer in the garage because I hate it so much. I will get a side by side next.

@pinkb: I have to admit I hate the bottom drawer freezer, too. My husband loves it, I find things get lost in the abyss.

@babycanuck: Yep I love the top fridge part, its great but after 5 years of the freezer pit I just couldn't take it anymore. Everything gets lost and just so unorganized. And I just dont feel like it fits much at all.

We have a side by side. A friend of mine has the French door / bottom freezer, and her toddler figured out how to open the freezer and help himself to Popsicles, lol.

an LG bottom freezer, but a single door on the top. i like my parents' kenmore elite french door much better (and their freezer drawer setup is far more organized than mine)! i know water/ice in the door is frowned upon for style reasons, but it's so convenient! i would vote: french door with water & ice.

Oh please don't get a Samsung. We got one of their french door models and have regretted every minute of it. Our fridge has been replaced once and the new new one repaired once. Our control panel is also starting to peel off and they won't repair it because it's cosmetic. I also hate the freezer pit, but I love the top part. We've also been thinking of putting a freezer in the garage as well.
If I had to do it again, I'd probably still get the french door one. But I'd get a frigidaire, whirlpool, or GE. I'd also get the smudge-proof stainless steel. I also think it would be awesome to have the model that has the easy access to the door for drinks. After owning a french door, that seems like it would be a really useful feature.

We have a Samsung French door with fridge in the bottom. But additionally there is a pull out drawer for drinks etc. In the freezer drawer there is also a drawer so it's not as deep as other models. We've had it for two years and no issues at all!
@alohaorchid: agree with the width on a side by side! It's not big enough for a pizza box, cookie sheet, baking pan, etc. I also feel like you can barely fit anything in the freezer.

We have a three door. I love it. It has two slide out drawers in the freezer so it stays fairly organized.

After living with a side-by-side and now owning a fridge with the freezer on the bottom, I MUCH prefer the freezer on the bottom! I found the side-by-side to be much too narrow. We also have a huge deep freezer, so we don't ever completely fill the freezer drawer in our kitchen fridge... Maybe that helps a bit.

Side by side! We had a french door but it didn't work well with a toddler who loved Popsicles. I also hated stacking food in the freezer...I couldn't see what was in there without digging.

We have a Samsung side by side. I didn't want the french door because I didn't like how the frozen food would just be piled in there. At least with a side by side there's shelves/drawers to help organize. We've only had ours for 2 months but we like it so far. I like that it's a flat front surface (no handles sticking out) and the outer door feature is nice.

We love our sub zero side by side. The only drawback I can think of is that it can't fit a large pizza in the box. Otherwise it is the perfect fridge.

We have a clear glass door subzero fridge.
@Mrs. Jacks: haha we usually only have 1-2 slices leftover when we order, so I just throw them in a ziplock or tupperware. Love our fridge so much!!

We have a two door, with the freezer on the bottom.
I like a two door model over the three because I can open it with one hand and you don't have to close the doors in a certain configuration.

It's pretty, but I would only rate it as "OK". It's large, but not well laid out so it actually doesn't fit that much stuff - especially larger sized bottles (juice, soda, wine, etc.). The ice maker part takes up a large portion of the left door, leaving you with very little storage space on that side.
The freezer part is well laid out.

French door with the freezer on the bottom. Ours has pull out shelves so I don't find it disorganized at all. We also have a deep freezer in the basement for long term stuff but we generally have a lot of food on hand. We also have the ice and water in the front - I had no idea it was a style faux pas @mrs. bird: ! I agree that it is incredibly convenient and ours is hooked through a filtration system (that we need to replace every 90 days) so I love having instant filtered water and cubes.

We have the same one that @regberadaisy: has - French door Samsung with extra pull out drawer. We love it. I love love love the middle drawer which is our drink drawer, because most of time that's what I want to pull out. I also love all the space it has and that it's really configurable. Different shelves lift up or slide back and we've been able to fit everything in there that we've tried. This is my second bottom drawer freezer and I like this one better. The top drawer in it moves better and the bottom seems less cavernous. We're not huge freezer people though. If we were though, I'd probably get a chest freezer for the garage.
When we bought it at Home Depot, the sales guy convinced us not to get Maytag or Frigidaire, he said those brands tend to have more issues. He recommended Samsung or LG, which Consumer Reports also says are the top brands.

Adding pictures of ours because I'm working from home and bored :P. It's not super full right now, but it really can fit a lot. And no problem with tall stuff, we have 2 bottles of champagne, 2 bottles of OJ, A gallon of WCM and a 1/2 gallon of Soy Milk that fit in, no problem. We could also flip up the top left shelf for more vertical space.

I love our french door LG but I hate the bottom freezer drawer. I'm the queen of organization but there is just no way to organize one deep pit of a freezer. We have a separate chest freezer but same problems there. Drives me crazy.

@mrs. wagon: I think that's why I'm okay with the bottom freezer - I don't really mind messes, so as long as I know what's in the freezer I'm okay digging around to find it.
