@swurlygurl: I keep an inventory on my phone now, so I don't mind QUITE as much-- I know that nothing will get lost in there, and I just have to dig around to find things. The problem is when it gets too full and won't close... I'm thinking about building a pantry closet and leaving the bottom totally open for the chest freezer to live in there!

We have a side by side. The refrigerator part is plenty big enough but I wish it had more freezer space.

@ShootingStar: That separate drawer IS nice!! Thanks for the pictures. I love that set up and think it would work really well for us.
I think overall I'm tempted to try the French door type this time! I have a separate chest freezer so I'm already used to digging around and I think that's doable and the benefits of the larger shelves in the French door fridges sound helpful now and then!

Very similar to @ShootingStar: , we have a 4 door as well, though ours is Whirlpool. Before this we had a side by side. There always seems to be space for everything. The freezer compartment comes with the bottom bin that has a space especially for frozen pizza, and two slide out shelves, which can easily hold things like boxes of waffles (or in our case, frozen Marie Callender's pie

@mrs. bird: only reason we didn't get the drink dispenser was to have more room in the fridge. Otherwise, I love the convenience when we go to people's houses with one.
@ShootingStar: This is like my parent's one. I'm jealous of their refrigerator drawer!
We have a Samsung french door with freezer drawer on the bottom. I LOVE it! I would never get a side by side after having a french door. You can fit so much stuff in the refrigerator portion. The freezer has a drawer inside it.. but yeah, it does get a little disorganized. Another thing I like about the fridge on top is I don't have to bend over to get stuff out... since I get into my fridge more often than the freezer.

We have a side by side, came with the house; but if ever we need a new fridge I'm getting French door hands down.
