So I've been trying to make monthly slow cooker dinner plans and was thinking of making beef stew one night this week. I have never made beef stew in my life and am pretty ignorant when it comes to types and cuts of meat, actually. So, the recipe said "stew beef" and when I asked the guys at the meat counter they showed me where it was, but what they pointed out said something like "cubed steak" and was like 5.60 for 1.18 lbs. Does that sound right? What meat do you use for beef stew?
