@stargal: Ditto on the potty training!
Also not looking forward to dealing with puberty and birds and bees talk even though that's not for a long time!!!

Yes, potty training! I'm also a notorious worrier and am already worrying about her hanging out with the wrong people!

Talking back. When little girls start to get little attitudes scares the crap out of me!

@regberadaisy: @stargal: @Kiki: @Springtime: Am I the only person that isn't worried about the birds and the bees thing at all? I always find it kind of funny that it worries people so much.
I'm worried about the teen years. Hearing my little girl say she hates me would break my heart.

Potty training and, much later, worrying whether my daughter is going to (1) hate me and/or (2) turn into a mean girl.

@Arden: I never worried about it..... Until now! Now that its approaching its hard to think about how to really go about it!
@stargal: On my current radar is the teen years, really growing H into a good man! I think that's always been on the top of my "eek, how the heck do I do this" list though!

@Arden: I'm not worried about the bees/birds thing. Its not that big of a deal.

@regberadaisy: Yes! I'm a little afraid of this with a boy. I might make it DH's job :o)
@MrsCB: I'm the opposite! Learning how to diaper a girl also scares me! Boys are easy...until they pee on you, and all over your living room curtains! His range is incredible.

@stargal: @2PeasinaPod: LOL, I think I'm really just worried about learning how to do it without getting peed on. I can't remember ever diapering a boy. Girls are easy - just wipe in the right direction and done.

@Arden: I'm not worried about the birds & the bees at all! I felt like my mom did such a great job with us about it that I'm going to model her. I'm way more worried about talking to her about racism & discrimination.
I am not looking forward to potty training and discipline. Especially because DH and I come from families that spank and I don't want to, so I know there's going to be talk from the peanut gallery.

@Arden: no one ever gave me the talk so I'm afraid of giving it!

@Arden: I'm not too worried about it either. I don't know why, because I have no role model for how to do it!
I'm looking forward to a lot of things, actually! I like challenges and learning new things. I'm sure I'm being way to optimistic

I'm not looking forward to puberty and the teenage years. I really hope he will stay away from alcohol and drugs. But it's a scary world out there.
coconut / 8234 posts
@regberadaisy: Oh I can see how you'd be afraid of it if you never had the talk! I got the talk at different stages: 8 when I learned how everything worked, at 13 when I got my period, and at 16 to "refresh" and talk about diseases, safe sex, and birth control.

The birds and bees talk
Teenage years with a girl ( I know she is going to be worse then a boy would have been)
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@mrsjazz: andddd I grew up in a culture where you just do NOT talk about it. I want it to be the opposite with our kids. I want them to feel comfortable to come to us with those issues. So not sure how to achieve that...

I know i have 18 years before this, but am not looking forward to when he leaves the house to go to college. Yesterday I actually thought to myself that I might be one of those moms that moves wherever their child is. One of my friends who had kids really young told me that is why teenagers act like that, to help parents kick them out of the house.

@bamblm: oh ya, i cant even THINK about him moving away, momma gonna follow. haha sure he will love that

I'm not looking forward to wiping potty training butts on the toilet. I don't why it seems so different than diapers though...
Also not looking forward to her telling me she hates me. It will break my heart and I will cry!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@2PeasinaPod: oh we already said I take daughter and he takes boy! It's pure anatomy!
@swurlygurl: ugh. Yes. I already told DH the first time our daughter tells me she hates me -bc it WILL happen- I'm going to cry for days.

disciplining, hands down.
My parents didn't believe in grounding - and my brother and I never really did anything to warrant it. I'm afraid of what to do if I actually have children that act out!

Potty training and puberty. I think I'm okay on the birds and the bees, but talking about body changes is going to be torture for me!
pomegranate / 3577 posts
Another one for getting this kid from 12 to 18 unscathed. After a certain point, friends can have far more influence than parents do and that scares the bejeebers out of me!

Losing teeth. So disgusting. I really don't know if I'll be able to handle it.
