I know it was irrational - but I was so relieved to find that I loved LO2 just as intensely as LO1. I was so nervous about that, and it's still very weird to feel so much unconditional love for two little people.
I'm also pleasantly surprised by how much my older daughter loves her younger sister. She shares toys, binks (gah..), food (..sigh) and is always concerned about her and where she is!

How EASY having a baby is! I remember feeling so overwhelmed when Xander was a baby, but now that he's a toddler and I have a baby I realize just how easy babies really are (although, admittedly, I have easier babies than most).
Also, how much time I still get to spend with my oldest. I was worried I'd never get to spend time with him or he'd start resenting the time I spend with the baby, and although we went through a little bit of a rough transition, now (3 months into this 2 kid gig), things are so much better than I thought they would be. I still get plenty of one-on-one time with Xander, especially on weekends, and he still loves me just as much as he ever did and loves the baby too!

@Adira: THIS! The second time around having a baby is so much easier!!!
I also was worried that I wouldn't connect as much with LO#2- but I was surprised at how I love her just as much as LO#1! Also seeing him love on her is adorable!!!

I spent a lot of my pregnancy for LO 2 worrying about how we would handle more than one kid and it is a lot easier than I expected.

Yep, way easier to add another baby to the mix. With #1 everything in my life changed to accommodate this little person. LO2 just fits so naturally into our family and life didn't get drastically altered this time. Plus I'm so much more confident as a mom this time around.

The transition for my older daughter has been pretty easy thus far. She is very interested in her little sis and really gentle and caring. I also expected to hate the newborn days like I did with #1 but i am enjoying it a lot! Not all the time, but a good amount of it is pretty fun. Part of it is because having a newborn baby is so easy compared to having a toddler. Another part is because i know what im doing so im not as anxious.

I love watching all my kiddos be siblings to one another!
The best was when a little girl, who in my head was my daughter's arch nemesis, tried to give my middle son a bottle, and my daughter yelled at her "Don't you touch my baby!" She was protecting him, in her head, and it was amazing to me.
Now, my youngest loves being in the middle of it. He always wants to be with his big brother and sister! Their bond is amazing.

I'm also surprised that i love LO2 as much as i did LO1 (one of my biggest fears). I'm surprised that LO1 wasn't super jealous, and how much she loves him - it's probably because we're still able to give her a lot of 1-on-1 time. I'm also surprised that it's not that bad going out with the two of them on my own.
@Anagram: Looking back, i think LO1 wasn't as bad as i thought during the NB stages. it's just that as a first time parent you don't know what to expect, and you don't know what "tricks" work. More confident second time around, baby #2 just seems easier.

I loved being alone with the baby! When someone took the toddler it was like a holiday!
But it also surprises me how quickly the toddler adjusted, how tired we are still (a year later), and how much I needed DH this time.

.@IcebergMom: @BandDmommy:@Adira: @cheert16: @Anagram: Ok, so my experience is different, I guess. I find my toddler to be so easy compared to my baby (10 months now). Big brother is a breeze. DS2 is needier than big brother was at the same age and he's gotten more difficult as he's gotten older as separation anxiety has hit. But overall, yes, having a baby the second time is easier because you know what to expect and realize most things are a phase.
What surprised me about having two is how DS1 loved his brother immediately. There was no jealousy, which had me worried while I was pregnant.

@Mamasig:I like to hear both sides! Honestly, my toddler is really easy. I always hear about all these tantrums and food battles and crazy hijinks other toddlers do, and mine does all those things only rarely. She was much, much harder as a baby (she had feeding issues of all kinds and was up every 2ish hours all night long till she was almost 1 year old). But now she plays by herself! And eats well! And is hilarious!
Sooo......yeah. it's hard for me to picture having a baby that's even easier? But I won't complain if I get one of these fabled easy babies!

@Anagram: my daughter started STTN at 2 months old.. She is so easy she gives me baby fever and my toddler is great sleeper/eater and doesn't tantrum.

@Anagram: I'm now realizing my 2.5 is probably not a typical toddler. We rarely have tantrums, he's pretty mellow and doesn't get into things. If he skips a nap, he's fine. We didn't have to baby proof much. Eating is getting harder lately and he doesn't require much sleep, but other than that, he's easy peasy! At 10 months old, I can ready see his brother will be a different story!

How snuggly and clingy #2 is. Her older brother was never snuggly unless he was hurt or sick.
The absolute, pure joy we feel when we just take a minute from the madness to sit back in silence and watch our beautiful kids. I think I do this at least 3x each weekday night, and so many times each weekend day. My heart at that moment is so pure and happy and complete. Sounds so cheesy but it's true.
I am sure I don't have to tell you how much your heart bursts when they show love for each other. Or, even better, protectiveness. Of course they fight too. But the positive here totally outweighs the negative.

I love how much E & F worry about if I'm going to leave G when we get in the car. I always put G in his car seat and leave him in the house while I go buckle the boys in their seats. They keep doubling back to try to lift the car seat themselves. Also, they think it's so cool when G grabs their hands.
