I put myself on a very strict budget and ended up being a Maggie bride as well! I wore Maggie Sottero's Bethani in all white (the magazine pics showed it in white with black embroidery) and I absolutely loved it. It had everything I wanted in a wedding dress and it was a very logical decision-- no magical moment.
If we renew our vows at 10 or 15 years, I want to save up cash and go to Kleinfeld (or similar) and have the "magical moment" experience!! I would probably choose a lace sheath or slim a-line-- that was the dress I liked the most (Maggie's Grace, very popular) but it didn't have a long train.

I wore a lace Monique Lhullier. It was my dream gown and I would pick it again 4 years later.

I would an a-line gown with a v neck. It was pretty plain. I really loved the simplicity of the dress. If I were to do it again, I might go sexier! I don't have a good picture of the front of the dress so I'm including a detail shot, and a picture of a special guest!

@anacarlin what a beautiful pregnant bride!
I wore a strapless lace trumpet dress with beading and a beaded sash. Loved it!
If I were to pick another dress i would keep the lace and the shape, but do cap sleeves and keyhole back. I didnt ever think I'd love lace so much so my dress was the only lace that I tried on!

I tried on almost 100 dresses, and ended up with the 1st dress I tried on LOL! I am sure I found the best dress for me in the end.

@Leialou: Ok off topic, but I found your celebrity doppelganger! Do you watch Downton Abbey? You look like the girl who plays Lavinia (her name is Zoe Boyle).
PS - I love your dress!

@rachel: my aunt recently told me the same thing! I haven't seen her on Downton Abbey bc I've only watched the first season so far. I'll have to check out the second.

@jholler25: I love the second picture of you!
I hated wedding dress shopping. I'm very insecure about my body and never found anything I LOVED. However, I did end up being very happy with my dress. I think if I could do it again I would look for something with sleeves or tried to lose more weight.

@alison206: Thank you! PS: You are on crack- you looked amazing on your wedding day and did NOT need to lose any weight!!!! Gorgeous!

@mrs. wagon: I wore Maggie's Grace! Was the first dress I tried on and I ended up going back to it from another dress I bought and cancelled!
My wedding was last July - and I'd definitely pick the same dress. I loved it! Maggie Sottero Grace (with a belt from Justin Alexander)

I never thought i would have a big dress but i fell in love with this satin Sarah Danielle. I had the top altered so it was more of a true sweetheart neckline. i wouldnt change a thing but if we ever renewed vows or something i would go with something like the off the shoulder i wore for our civil ceremony. here are both dresses

I totally loved my JCrew dress and I'd definitely pick it again. Probably because it was only two years ago too. Everyone thought I was nuts ordering a wedding dress online! Oh well!

I always knew I wanted something super simple, and I ended up with just that! I'm a wedding photographer and see gorgeous dresses all the time, so it makes me happy to say that I would wear the same dress again for sure

I loved that my dress was simple and elegant. I'd love to get married again and again (to my DH of course) and either choose a more mermaidy sexy look or go the total opposite and do a full, soft, ballgown look.

Everyone is so beautiful! My dress was from WTOO and was called Polina... it was a sweetheart neckline and then an a-line skirt with pick-ups. It came down to this dress and one that was similar, but more of a fit and flare/soft mermaid. If I were to do it all again I probably would have gone for the other style... although I can't imagine it would be as comfortable.
Sidebar - I just ran upstairs to try on my dress!! Does anyone else ever do this?? Mine hasn't been cleaned and is just hanging in plastic in the closet, so I pull it out once and a while and try it on to see if it still fits well

@ocean girl
omg you ran upstairs? does it fit? i doubt my fits right now although i am back to pre-preg weight. i just feel like it's sitting differently. i have never re-tried on my dress. it's clean in a box now!
p.s. those people that do those "trash the dress" photoshoots are nuts. i cant imagine!!!

@icebergmom - YES it fits!!! Perhaps I should go back to the SSB thread and confess this?
I bet yours would fit great - too bad it's in a clean box or else you could play dress up, too!
PS - agreed, although I can't see me shelling out hundreds of dollars to clean a dress that I'll never wear again... although I would like to have it for any future DD's to try on.

I wore a Pronovias gown. Funny because I never envisioned myself in this type, but when I was trying on dresses it was the clear favorite! I still love it!

I wore a strapless A-line gown but I have always had my heart set on a tea length. I still regret not taking the extra time to find one. Maybe if we ever renew our vows I will be able to fulfill my dream!

@sorrycharlie: omgomgomg I love love love this dress!!!!!!! So gorgeous!!! I really wanted a huge ballgown skirt and a long train, so even though I absolutely fell in love with Grace, I ended up going with Bethani because of those two things.

Oh wow, everyone looks so lovely in these pics!
I wore a short dress with lots of petticoats underneath! I loved it!
I think if I were to do it again - renew our vows, perhaps - I'd do it barefoot on the beach and wear something long and floaty!

i love seeing pictures of everyone's dresses!
i ended up getting the 2nd dress i tried on - an off-the-rack La Sposa dress. it was a strapless, lace, high mermaid style dress with a decently long train. it felt timeless, classic, and elegant... and fit my style/personality. i loved it. if i could have a do-over i'd still want something all lace!

@TYSONJA - LOVE your dress! if i were to renew my vows i'd want a dress like that.
@anacarlin - omg you are the cutest pregnant woman in a wedding dress!! i love your bangs too!

@littlehunny: You were a stunning bride! I love your custom dress.
I was torn between 2 dresses for my wedding. If I could redo it, I would pick the one I picked, but I still think about the runner up dress--it was couture, made by a local artist--a full traditional ballgown with a large dress and gorgeous huge train, and an orchid at the waist.
If I ever get my body back AND have a ton of money, I will buy that dress to go to the opera.
My Anne Barge fit n flare with pretty flowers and crystals. And my handsome groom.
For our legal one we wore this, but I would have gone for something puffier ( I wanted ) if we were doing something less casual.

@pastemoo: Thanks! It was a ton of fun going through the design process. You look gorgeous in your dresses!
