We just installed DS's Graco Extend2fit and it has this weird double walled pocket type thing which makes the back uneven. There is a seat cushion sort of covering it now but, I assume, you take it put once the child gets bigger. I can't help but think this would be uncomfortable.
Any ideas of what it is/ the purpose it serves?

I know some of my seats have had a spot where you can store the car seat manual? could that be it?

@T.H.O.U.: Maybe, it just really sticks out and seems like it would be too uncomfortable to be worth it.

It's just how the cushion sits when the headrest is in any of the lower positions. For seats with a no rethread harness the back cushion essentially has to fold up and then straighten out as the headrest gets raised.
It looks like it might be tucked a little funny - it took awhile for the back of our Graco 4ever to flatten out as DD sat in it.

@catgirl: Thank you! You have been super helpful with all this Graco stuff! I am finding it hard to get as tight as I want but, hopefully, I will get the hang of the straps. I am just so used to the Britax.

@simplyfelicity: We had a Britax infant seat and I agree that those straps moved in an easier way. I feel like after a few weeks our Graco started to break in a bit and the straps were easier to tighten. Also when you pull the strap to tighten try changing the angle you are pulling - I need to pull mine as straight out from the seat as possible, not angled up.

@catgirl: Will do! It almost crossed my mind to return for the Britax but I love all the little extras you get while paying less money.
